automatic change in selling settings for offers?

I do not generally turn "allow offers" on, for but for a few select items because I just don't want to deal with bottom of the barrel random offers from buyers I generally price my items at average sold price or competitively already....

I will often send small discount offers to the "interested buyers" that ebay shows in the active listings, and that is all fine and dandy they can accept the offer or not and I am perfectly fine with that....

however I noticed last night there was a change in the ebay system that automatically turned on "allow counter offers" apparently for those "interested buyers" that normally would only receive a discount offer only.

I changed it back to "counter offers not allowed" but just a heads up if you encounter the same thing, the setting is under "offer settings"

give someone an inch and they want to take a mile.....

I tend to get the people that want to shoot back with 70% off ugh, no thanks......waste of time.

There was a 9 page thread about this yesterday, it was affecting everyone.  It all got reset back to normal though last night.  Can you check to see if yours is still wrong?  It was fixed for everyone else late last night & I suspect yours is fixed too.
