Because with 1.5 billion items listed, eBay's policy enforcement has never been immediate, comprehensive, or accurate.

Why was my listing removed when similar listings are still active?
If your listing is removed by eBay, you may see similar listings still active on the site. This could be for several reasons:

  • There may be differences between the two listings that are not obvious
  • The other seller may be a rights owner or an authorized retailer of the item
  • A participant in the VeRO program may have asked us to remove your listing but hasn't requested the other listing's removal. These types of removals are only done at the request of the VeRO participant; they are not eBay's decision. Read more about the VeRO Program
  • Your listing was reported to us, but the other listing was not

If you think another listing violates our policies, please let us know and we'll investigate.

Because it should have never been banned. They are trying to make it an issue when it's not. I love Aunt Jemima products, it's sad to see it politicized in such a way.

What next, can't sell Cream of Wheat either, or Uncle Bens items?

Cream of Wheat is fine to list as long as it's not expired.

*They* already took "Uncle" off of Uncle Ben's products.

*They* removed the Indian maiden off of the Land-O-Lakes carton.

*They've* also rewrote the jingle for Rice-A-Roni, it's no longer referred to as the San Francisco treat.

I'm surprised that Betty Crocker is still a household name.

It's not "Uncle Bens" anymore.

It's "Ben's Original". 😉

Ebay, like many online marketplaces, is placing a higher value on the personal feelings of a minority of buyers above the history and social history of the United States.

This behavior has spread to many more specialized multi-seller sites.

The effect will be to raise the prices obtained by sellers who still have a way to sell these types of collectibles.

Yesterday, Microsoft commemorated an anniversary associated with the children's book author Roald Dahl whose books are being censored by their current publisher.

A seller on this forum posted about having issues because he wanted to sell one of the Dr. Seuss books Ebay has banned.

Most Ebay sellers may be upset but few have left in protest of the censorship.

By the way, do not make further attempts to list items which are banned for this reason. Or might be banned for this reason. Ebay will take action against your account for repeated attempts.

I never thought to look for Aunt Jemima products on ebay but I just did because of your post. The pricing is insane for pancake mix! $37.99?? Yikes.

Was that because there was an issue with the jingle or is because Rice-A-Roni does not wish to be associated with the San Francisco Treat any longer?

She got cancelled.

@stephenmorgan  I do not know the answer to that.  All I know is this happened at around the same time as "aunt", "uncle" and "Indian maiden" were cancelled.  I still sing the jingle with the treat part. 😉

I think this is what allthings-collectible was talking about in a neighboring post.
