Zero selling fees offer. Fees incurred

Hi, 

I could use some advice from the experienced sellers out there.

I received an offer to start selling for free. The first 5 items were to have zero selling fees. I only sold 1 item and have had several requests for fees. Not just Paypal fees.

Why would this have happened?

Do I have to pay the fees?

I only sold on eBay because of this offer.

Not sure what the offer was there in the UK, but sometimes on .com there is "fine print." 

Sometimes it may be categories that offers apply to.

Sometimes it is listing format. (fixed vs. auction)

Sometimes the item must sell in the 1st listing period.

As noted in the other post, every offer has specifics such as format (auction vs fixed price) and in particular the starting date for the listing.

Also, check your detailed invoice: are you sure that the fees are a final value fee, and not some other fee such as for putting a reserve price on an auction?

Read the offer carefully to be sure you complied with the terms.  If you still think so, give ebay a call or email........

Some specials must also be activated first. One thing is for certain here. When it comes to ebay and their money there is no such thing as an easy button to get them to give any up.

Lots and lots of hoops to jump through at every turn from start to finish and they try to make everything smell rosier than it ever is.
