I just processed a return/refund for a buyer who stated that he bought it for his nephew's birthday but found out someone already just gave him the same gift. The item received was in the same good condition as I sent it out.
I just found out in my records that this buyer previously purchased something else from me two months ago and also opened a return/refund. I processed it and received the item back long ago. But the reason for refund was the same thing "I got this for my nephew's birthday but he already bought one."
BBL worthy? Thoughts? So far I'm in the red with this "returning" buyer (shipping lost 4 ways).

Yes I would add that buyer to my bbl.

He obviously has a lot of nephews. 😏
I don't block often but I would block him before
another birthday comes along.

Yes.

Yes!

I've blocked for a lot less so YES, definitely.

I wish I could block them too!

< the reason for refund was the same thing >
The old saying is "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." This buyer appears to need a Farley File so he can keep up with which sellers he told which excuses. I wouldn't let him have the opportunity to fool me a third time. Add my voice to the chorus ... yes, I would block him.

I have a long list of blocked buyers. As far as I am concerned, anyone who buys a product gets EXACTLY what they ordered, including detailed descriptions, and carefully detailed sizing information, and ample, excellent pictures, so there is absolutely no excuse. I don't sell "one-off" items, I sell items that I have hundreds, or in some cases, thousands of. So how is it possible that I could be at fault, when less than 1% of those items get returns?
Inevitably, the seller claims it was too big/small, or not as described, which, obviously, with a less than 1% return rate on identical items, is simply not true.
There's also the buyers that leave nasty feedback. Obviously, they don't want to do business with me, again. I'm happy to remove my listings from their screen.
I do make exceptions... Sometimes a buyer will contact me, before starting a return, or leaving feedback, and explain that they did not read the description correctly, or that, despite all the details in the listing, they mis-understood what they read.
Anyone can make a mistake, myself included. It's how we handle those mistakes that define the kind of people we are, and it's the lying, rude, nasty, and arrogant ones that make up my list. In about 7-1/2 years, that list has around 40 names on it.
Save yourself the hassle, and the money, and ban that guy. He's pulling some kinda scam, at your expense, and will probably keep doing it, until you take action to prevent it.
Good Luck!

Sounds like a neurotic, and using the "bought it for my nephew's birthday but found out someone already just gave him the same gift" excuse to justify the item's return, and his buyer's remorse compulsion, while softening the blow to the seller by using compassionate words like "nephew" and "birthday" and "gift". . . Tell him to visit a counselor or pastor... 😁 or better, report him to ebay, you might be helping some other sellers dealing with him/her.

So, you've had your time wasted twice and lost money, and you need to ask about about BBL ... 🤣

I don't block simply for a return. But for TWO returns, i would block.

personally i would block and advise ebay......especially if you are eating the shipping charges

All you can do is block them,Ebay will do nothing about this Ebay provided buyers have done a lot worse and nothing. Ebay is all about the buyers no concern for the sellers we are supposed to sell and do what ever the buyer wants to keep them happy.
