Within the last two months I've been getting a lot of requests for invoices by winning bidders after an auction ends.
I craft my auctions through Inkfrog and always fill out the shipping details completely. Some of these auctions have calculated shipping and some are flat rate, it doesn't seem to be a factor in the uptick in invoice requests.
I realize there are bigger issues in eBay-land but my question is, "has eBay stopped sending invoices automatically"? Did I miss the memo?

I have not had any of my customers tell me that they did not receive an invoice and none have asked for one.

The reason you're getting a request for an invoice @lcp45 is you're about to be scammed.
At EOA, your buyer temporarily resets their default shipping address close to you, then requests an invoice. After you send the invoice, which locks in the shipping cost, your buyer goes through eBay Checkout with their actual shipping address, but pays the lower shipping cost.
Your buyer has 48 hours to pull the scam, after which if you don't send the invoice, they have to decide whether to checkout, or face your IUD.

Well I certainly learned something new today! Most of the things I buy here are from AUCTIONS. Sometimes I will be the "winning bidder" for more than one item from the same seller. I have to request an "invoice" or I will be paying the full shipping for each of the items though checkout even though ten of them are less than 8 or ten ounces. I would never do what you describe to a seller. How tacky at the very least!
