Will Not Allow Me to View a Sold Listing if an Equivalent Active Listing Exists

This just started today in Sports Card category: No option to View Original Listing when clicking on a sold item and getting redirected to an active listing (rarely possessing the same attributes). Is this a real-time glitch or is this the New Way? It is maddening.

When it shows another listing, isn't there a link on that page to see the original item/listing?

Have a great day.

No, Ken. Been doing this for a long time. No option to view what you clicked on - just blinks through and redirects with no options.

Are you sure? Just asking because the last time I ended up on one of these eBay Catalog items I had to hunt around to find the link and when I found it I exclaimed "why didn't I see that".

Do you recall what the sold item was?

Someway to avoid "item you selected has ended, but we found something similar" completed listings?

You can view a listing like that by adding a no-redirect HTML code (?nordt=true) to the end of the URL, after the item number. I believe this only happens with items that are linked to a product page which have other similar items available.

If there aren't any "similar items" to be displayed, and there is no "view original listing" link, then this is the only way I know of to get to the original listing.

Try viewing those listings on ebay.ca instead of ebay.com -- for some reason listings remain on the Canadian site longer than on the US site.

This from @7hillscomicsandmore  seems like a good workaround if you are being redirected to a catalog page where the item has a product rating:

"The only workaround i've found is to right-click the "product ratings" link, which still pops up an active listing instead of the completed one you're trying to view. This seems to be still triggering the "The item you selected has ended, but we found something similar." bar that allows clicking through to the completed listing....."

Yes that works. It seems the only sold listings that redirect are ones with a "product rating".

Hey @cardbros_xl we have received word that this issue has now been resolved.  Please let us know if you see any other instances of this happening.

Considering I am looking at completed listings telling me the item has been sold is dumb.

Not everyone that follows a link to an eBay listing is necessarily looking for a completed listing, though.

If a link to an ended eBay listing shows an active listing or a product page instead, there should once again be a link to the original listing.

I just ran into this irritating issue again yesterday.  But this time I actually found a small link to "see original listing." I clicked on it and, voila, there it was, the original sold listing.
