I'm going to be listing a men's jacket. It's Carhartt style and has a legitimate looking Carhartt label on the front of it, but it so obviously NOT a Carhartt. I will be listing it as Unbranded. So my question is...Is it ok to list a knock-off if you call it Unbranded and if I DON'T include 'Carhartt' anywhere in the title or description?

@a_c_green My phone tells me that the text on the right says "belonging to Niko" or "Son of Niko" in Russian.

No, you cannot sell fakes whether you disclose it or not, and whether you list the brand or not. It might not be caught, but if it is, you could get in big trouble.

I think you cannot get in trouble posting a photo since artificial intelligence can't read photos...correct?
The problem would be a buyer buying it and not know what they are truly getting because you can't use what it is in a title or the description and buyer might end up returning it as a fake.

Then imagine a buyer only looks at pictures, sees that is says Carhartt on front tag, receives it and realizes it's fake, which as you have noted is quite obvious Then they open a return, and likely report you to eBay for selling counterfeit items.
And that's assuming it doesn't get taken down for being counterfeit before it even sells.
Not worth it to me.

That would be considered a fake knockoff. No, your not allowed to sell that on eBay or any place for that matter. You could be sued by the brand name holder too.

Is it supposedly Carhartt Work in Progress? Carhartt fakes are rare, but WIP does get occasionally faked.

You could carefully remove the fake Carhartt label and just list it as a tasteless, violence-themed Russian-style jacket that most people outside of Russia wouldn't wear in public (or in private).

If you really want to try and sell that, remove any/all brand tags and sell it as an unbranded men's hoodie.

If you have to ask the question, the answer almost always is that the item is prohibited.
Any form of misuse of a brand can cause you serious problems.

Don't list it. You will get into more trouble than it's worth. But, you already knew that.

Will I get in trouble
It is against eBay policy, so it is possible you will get in trouble.
And now that you have come on the eBay message board and publicly admitted that you know it is a fake, I think listing it would be foolish.

Sure it can. Or at least, visual translation software has existed for a while now, and AI can probably help to interpret the most likely meaning and that kind of thing.
For example, Google Lens on my phone tells me that the Cyrillic phrase on the left reads "stay away." It seemed a little confused by the phrase on the right, showing different interpretations in several attempts by me, including "no one" and "Nikov" (which appears to be simply the same word expressed in Roman or Latin character form).
