I watched this video on youtube titled "Why I No Longer Use PayPal · Selling AND Buying" and I could relate entirely with it. (350,000 views - uploaded in december 2017).
I currently do not accept PayPal. I was wondering if Ayden will be a better processor for payments, and if anyone has any experiences with Ayden.

It sounds Chinese to me.

It is a beautiful country with a lot of things to offer that have nothing to do with drugs.

Apparently Adyen is Surinamese for "Start over again". Suriname is a former Dutch colony in the Carribean. So not Chinese.

I have had absolutely no trouble on Etsy since Adyen's beginning there. In fact, can't wait for it here because of enough positives for me. One of the main reasons is I can control when deposits are made to my bank account which is every month -- love love love it!
Just hope that Adyen is implemented here on eBay the same way.

Every MONTH?????? Oh boy-that will go down like a lead balloon if Ebay tries to pull THAT one.

I think it will be a wonderful experience for both buyers and sellers and can only hope tons of sellers opt in early to reap their rewards..

Yeah, but. Why Adyen works on Etsy like a charm is because of how Etsy structured their in-house payment system. eBay is already screwing that up.
For example, on Etsy, you can purchase mailing labels direct from your in-house account and then pay for them from your sales revenue before it's transferred to your bank account. In eBay's infinite wisdom/beta test model, they expect sellers to buy mailing labels from PayPal out of their own pocket separately. They're also prohibiting sellers in the beta test to take PayPal for payment. Whether that remains the same when the system officially rolls out, who knows, but if they have sufficient "proof" from the beta test that no PayPal didn't affect beta tester's sales, don't be surprised if PayPal will not longer be a payment option on eBay at all.

We can choose from daily all the way through monthly! I just happen to love the monthly payments.

With Etsy's in-house payment system which is powered on the back end by Adyen, you can indicate whatever frequency you'd like the transfers to occur. How eBay sets up their system is another matter. If it doesn't work as well/the same as Etsy's, it will be eBay's fault, not Adyen's.
@iaintdoingit is happy because he/she has the ability to *choose* how often Etsy sales monies are transferred to his/her bank account. For whatever reason, he/she likes to have the dollars deposited once a month. Other sellers can opt for a different schedule according to their preference. But again, what options eBay decides to give or not give their sellers will be totally up to eBay, not Adyen.

Yep, I have my Etsy funds deposited the next day after the sale. It's all automatic. Make a sale, next day the funds transfer. They're in my credit union account in 18-24 hours. Just wish I could get more sales there, I've had a whopping five this YEAR, huzzah!

Not true if you use your own merchant account.
The only thing required to sell here is an Ebay compliant electronic payment processor. Since most sellers don't have merchant accounts, they use Paypal.
That's right. That's the situation today. PayPal is not "required".
Going forward, eventually Adyen (eBay Payments) will be the only way to pay, it doesn't at least sound like they intend on allowing your own merchant account payments to continue... not that it's very widespread here anyhow, almost all the buyers here want to use PayPal thanks to years of eBay propaganda, it's more difficult to make sales on eBay without it.
To answer the OP's question: No, I don't think Adyen is going to "fix" any of the problems that currently exist. They're eBay's vendor, not ours, and eBay is going to be calling all the shots, so the problems will persist since the same people are still making the decisions.
Do I understand correctly (I've been away for a while)... are they really pilot testing the Adyen / eBay Payments thing without PayPal as a payment option? I'd read elsewhere they took in beta tester sellers for it, won't let them out of the test, and they can't take PayPal as a result... is that right?

Ayden will not be doing any of that. eBay will be managing all the aspects except the processing of the payment.
Right... eBay is going to be the one making all those sorts of decisions, which is why all the concern.
The only account Adyen has is eBay's, and I don't think they'll be holding eBay's money 180 days or freezing eBay's account... although I fully expect eBay will retain the capability to do all those things with our payment accounts that eBay has with us. They won't have to "direct" the payment processor to hold funds (like they do with PayPal today), they'll just do it themselves.

Yup, you heard right. See the article below for some of the "highlights" of the beta test. Makes one scratch one's head in wonder how/why/who comes up with this stuff...

Got Bad News for you. Ebay will not have inhouse shipping labels for their sellers .
