Why would buyer leave a negative immediately over an allegeged broken zipper w/o asking to return?

Also why does this buyer's feedback profile only show feedback sellers left him, but have nothing to show for what he left sellers? He has bought a lot. Can they hide what they have left but show what sellers left them?

Why leave an immediate negative without even contacting me? Why would he keep an item with a "faulty" zipper, wouldn't he rather return it? I test all zippers carefully before listing, and this item looked like it had been worn only a couple times. Arc'teryx doesn't use cheap zippers. Buyer lied about a faulty zipper. Why? Also dinged me on shipping badly! When I've lowered shipping to flat low amounts. I went down 9/10's a % from the neg. With 400 sales one neg takes you from 100% to 99.1% Shipping down from 4.9 to 4.8 after staying at 4.9 for 2 years, and I recently changed to lower flat rates.

I think buyer was acting vindictively. Lives in D.C. that says a lot. 😁

What's odd is that it does not show up on his feedback anywhere, I tried all the filters.

I was shocked that he didn't reach out to me, like I said in my reply to the fb, he'd have been offered a return label instantly.

Why?  While unfortunate to be sure, lots of buyers don't and just jump to leaving a feedback.  Usually from buyers that are not looking to return the item.

Thank you that's kind. I try so hard to treat others as I'd want to be treated, mentioning things like a wavy zipper which I almost never see mentioned by sellers. I spend literally hours correcting lousy color on photos when the color isn't accurate. The liars get to me, I grew up with a lying sociopath genius.

Yes I know this. Under "left for others" negative, there is zero feedback.

What you are showing above is NOT what some of us have been trying to explain to you.

There will NOT be a count to tell you how many negs were left by the member.  It will simply list fb left for others.

He knew this.  It wasn't broken. Gaming the system for some reason, to smear the competition? Get a huge discount? He sells the same brand.

29 days is pretty impressive.  Longest I have worn one pair of shorts can’t be longer than three days - and that was when I was in college.

The response you leave on the negative feedback will show on the buyer's feedback left for other's page exactly as it reads on your FB page.

So are you saying you left FB for the buyer and said negative stuff, which is against policy and if this is a buyer that as you have said you feel is trying to hurt you because you are a competitor, you just gave them more ammunition.  They could report you to Ebay for this policy breach and Ebay could sanction you.

I would like to thank you for that. The thing is how to send a link ? On a cell with no mouse to copy? I will try. Can you send me a message on one of my items possibly, it might be easier for me to do that way. But I'll try. Thank you!

You can do that.  Click into one of my listings and send me a message if you prefer to do it that way.

He's very experienced at buying and selling. He knew he could file a nad. He was up to something. (I have since changed my return policy but this was a listing from before the change.) very controlling person, maybe he was mad at the week it took to receive, so he dinged shpg cost too. Knocked me down a whole point and I had two years of higher shipping prices with a higher shipping cost rating. Shame that one buyer can knock a shipping rating down so significantly. The bottom line it was vindictive and untruthful.

I know it does. I always check all zippers.  I don't buy anything that looks used or worn. He sells the same brand so I think it was a destroy the competition move. Or he bought it to harvest the part to repair of one of his garments. Or both.

Well, hate to break it to you, but no one is out to get you.  There are way too many clothing sellers for any other seller to think that he can sink the competition.

maybe, just maybe, seller sells what he likes.  Don’t people always say to know what you sell and sell what you know?  Makes sense that he is an honest buyer of the same type of things that he buys.

Zippers go bad - it happens.  They can look fine, but not function properly.  And it can come on out of the blue.  I don’t recall a bad zipper that gave me a lot of advance notice.

Or on day 28 or 29, they used the item and one of the 3 zippers broke.  None of us knows what happened.  You are sure it is that they are trying to harm you.  What if they aren't?  What if they have a legit issue but feel they can fix it so they want to keep it.

You're right that was an unfortunate comment left on his page. On my own page it was more civil. My first time responding to a negative and that was a fail. It was intended as  leaving a negative on his page. I used to sell when sellers could leave a negative. I suspect he has so many positive seller fb's because most sellers (I think) leave positive immediately. When buyers and sellers could both leave negative fb, it was a better more civilized world on eBay. The negative he left is not anywhere on his FB profile with all filters attempted. That's really unfair, how did he rig that? Trash sellers and look squeaky clean?

I can't find a way to send you a link to his feedback. He shows no negative fb left for others at all. All filters tried. Please message me on one of my listings.
