There is an easy way to contact eBay support during this time when they have minimal phone support. Just go to help & contact at the top of this page, and select the chat option, if it doesn't come up on it's own.  I have used the chat option three times now and every time someone has responded within five minutes. They are very friendly and have resolved all of my issues in minutes. It's quite easy to use and available to everyone. You will also receive a transcript of the entire conversation for your records. Best of luck to you....

What kind of scammers?

Re: Why so hard to report scammers?

I find that, even if it was easy, it is a waste of time as the scammers just create another account and keep on scamming.

I just put them on my BBL and move on.

Scammers:

Who have listings for sale that are 'fake'?

or...

Who buy from you and text you to accept payment?

Who get an item you sold and disagree with you on it's condition / authenticity?

Who use CL or other websites claiming eBay is protecting their fake sales?

Thanks

Lynn

Re: Why so hard to report scammers?

If the 'scammer' is not involved in a transaction with you, it will be difficult to report and that is a Good Thing.

Think of what those 'thrill bidders" could do to your listings if they could Report them and get them taken down willy nilly.

Not hard at all. In fact it only takes a couple of clicks. If you are referring to why Ebay does not deal with scammers that is another topic.

Re: Why so hard to report scammers?

Bigger question is why they don't do more to combat scams in the first place.

Re: Why so hard to report scammers?

The reason e-bay is lax in doing anything at all to protect buyers against scammers is because it undoubtedly benefits them financially.  The sellers are totally defenseless.  In the cases of IND or INR the buyer, without question. is immediately reimbursed.  The sellers lose their cost of the item plus shipping and it they dare to dispute the claim they get hit with additional charges i.e loss of FVF's, an additional 5% surcharge on any future sales, and downgraded metrics.  It is a win-win for e-bay and a total loss for the seller.  Or to put it another way. they reward the scammer and demean/punish the seller.

IMHO e-bay + Covid + economy + scammers + USPS = a tsunami waiting to happen!

More details would be of help.  Alas!  Not being gifted with clairvoyance I'm afraid your title  doesn't say it all to me.

Nonsense. An Item Not Received dispute is in fact the easiest for a seller to WIN. Thats what the tracking is for. Its the Not as Described disputes where the buyer can score if the seller does not act to get the item back first before refunding. I dont know what your 'IND' is referring to.
