I cannot find any information about trading assistants on the Ebay site. Is it a real program and how do I access it?

I've not heard of it. Sit tight and wait for other posters with different experiences.

The trading assistant program was discontinued several years ago.

They had eBay trading assistants but eBay ended it and it was replaced by eBay Valets.

That program was also ended.

You have a bunch of high quality in demand items and want to sell them online?   If you have somebody else do it for you which one would pay the IRS on the profits?  It's easy to list and sell on ebay.  Start small selling insignificant items.  You have to learn to take good pictures and how to ship.  There's lots of tutorials and information to help.  You will have to work yourself if you want the money.

The issue here is that eBay discontinued that program some years ago.

Once upon a time, eBay had the Trading Assistants program, and that didn't work out, so they tried eBay Valet and that also failed. The fact is, that selling things for others has so many problems and pitfalls that very, very few people will do it.

The first problem is that people nearly always have an unrealistic idea of the value of their stuff, so a lot of emotional drama develops.  The second problem is that the merchandise must be in the hands of the seller, and arranging that can be burdensome.

Then there are questions such as: "How will you and the seller handle the refund when a buyer waits 179 days and then files a claim with PayPal or does a credit card chargeback?"  Are you willing to wait 180 for your money?  If not, will you guarantee to cover the loss if this happens?  How will you guarantee that?  Or, "Who eats the loss if a buyer gets a refund but the returned item is damaged or a sorry substitute is sent?"  And those are just a couple of issues, out of several equally serious ones.

So, the chances of your finding anyone who will sell for you are slim to none. Sorry to be discouraging.

If you do find someone, be sure you have a clean, detailed, written contract.

Best to just hire an assistant. That way you control how your items are handled.
