For a good seller, how should we need to promote their own products, let the product sales page views increase, and let the sales increase!

Could not agree more..........but if we (our store) do not use PLs.........we are lost in the online sea of listings.
I do think for what we are paying in fees, we should not ever need to use PLs..........and yet, here we are!

Consider if you will....
Category X has 50K sellers listing a total of 1.2M different items. When the raw search results are pulled up for any given inquiry, there could be 10K listings that match the keywords. Now you have to decide -- do you show only those from sellers who are making sales (thus perpetuating their selling streak and ensuring they never drop low in rank) or do you show only those that are inexpensive (thus forcing 'race to the bottom' pricing just to be seen), or do you use other criteria and then roll over the list from time to time, so that listings that hit the first page last time are not on the first page again the next -- giving everyone somewhat of a chance of making the first page.
Computers do all this so fast that we tend to overlook just how much they have to do to ensure we see what needs to be seen. Any search will have this issue -- eventually someone will search for something that returns more results than can be shown on a single page.... so how do you ensure everyone gets a reasonable chance to get on the first page? And how do you ensure that the customers are seeing the best of what you have to offer, as a venue, so that they will be happy with their purchase and come back again?
There is no simple answer, and what works well with today's metrics may not work so well with tomorrow's. The key is to make the adaptability transparent and non-invasive -- to do it in a way that does not disrupt today's business so that there will be business again tomorrow.
One thing that's probably killing a lot of search ranking is USPS/Covid issues. Customer's don't really care that the delay was with USPS - they only care that they didn't get what they purchased when they were told to expect it. I had one just this past couple of weeks -- order got 'disappeared' in the local Distro Center (Memphis has a local distribution center, Regional distribution center, and the Distribution Annex where packages go to die) for two weeks! I went thru all the steps that normally get things started, and they did... but only a day AFTER I had already refunded the customer to avoid an INR defect. Or the customer who wants me to waive any profits and resell him the album he purchased and had shipped to the wrong address, because I couldn't change the address two days after shipping (and one day before delivery) when he finally realized what he had done. I have to lose money because of his mistake? If he was asking for a $20 adjustment on a $200 profit item - maybe. But he was asking for a $8 adjustment on a $10 profit item... and that just won't fly. I may consider myself overworked, but I prefer being overworked and paid to being unemployed and broke.
Balance can be tricky....

Most people here in the U.S. search items U.S. "only". Because of that your views will always be less than others unless you are mostly selling to people in China or other countries. There is no getting around that.

Personally I believe the key to success in selling is not so much the number of views or watchers one receives. Yes they are an indication that someone has seen your listing - these folks can be shoppers, they can be other sellers or maybe some one that is "wishing" to buy something. I believe the key to success is that your listing is your best sales representative and you need to have a listing (aka ad) that will stop those shoppers and put their eye balls on your listings and make them want to buy from YOU vs the other sellers offering the same or similar item.. This can be done via your key photo ( don't show them the a full view of what you are offering but an interesting partial view that says to the shoppers I want to see more (kinda like that trick "show 'em a little leg" and descriptions that are short and sweet but complete and not a lot of "legalize" type copy - no one is going to read it. Having a no returns policy is a turn off. eBay MGB protects the buyer by hook or crook. The major competitor (The River) to eBay makes returns/refunds easy.. You can lead, follow or get out of the way. Of course there are certain categories like clothing, trading cards, hot wheels, etc that are saturated with sellers - carve out a niche in those categories ( e.g. Western wear, - they will produce greater sales $$ and profit margins vs the "me too sellers" ..Simple example I like bananas every grocery store offers them but I prefer Chiquita brand bananas and only one store has them in our neighborhood and I pay a more for them and they get all my banana business.
Just food for thought.

Its NOT if you want to use Promoted Listing. But a necessity. Of the 22 items that I sold last week, 12 of those were from PL.
Good luck on your selling journey!
