Why r sales so bad? I need some advice - very frustrated

I have excellent feedback (whenever I can get it- because a lot of buyers don't leave positive feedback) - super fast shipping and only charge USPS rates - no gouging on shipping plus I offer combined shipping discount - I research sold listings to make sure I price items fairly - most of my items r priced accordingly and consist of pre-owned but mint designer clothing as buy it now with best offer accepted - please feel free to peruse my listings and give any advice u can - thank u

I can only see 1 page of your listings when I click on listings next to your name.  It says there are 3 pages but when I click next page it says 0 results.  This is on my phone.

Thank you for your advice - and yes I do use padded envelopes, flat rate envelopes etc as you suggested for a lot of the clothing - but a lot of my good quality heavier clothing that I am selling does weigh more than First Class or even Priority under a  lb and does not fit into small flat rate or regional or medium flat rate box - if you could give me an example of one of my listings that you were talking about that was so high on shipping (maybe mistake in listing ?) - I would appreciate   - I do not gouge on shipping - weigh everything and only charge what USPS charges -  I have tried free shipping and it made no difference in my sales - actually got more ridiculous low offers - I do include measurements and try to explain sizes as much as I can - but that being said I really appreciate your comments and time you have taken to peruse my listings and offer your advice 🙂

Maybe you would have better luck listing fixed price?

You are 100% right.  They never have what I want for sale according to them and usually just transfer me off in some new direction.

As a seller I find it very frustrating to price-search and sift through a lot of unrelated *rap to find even a few items related to my item I wish to sell!

Oh, and then, to add insult to injury, my yahoo email will send me notices of my own and SIMILAR items for weeks! NO THANK YOU! I was price-searching, not buying!

Its not you, its ebay that's the problem. Sellers are constantly asking what they're doing wrong. Only thing we all did wrong was trust our businesses with ebay. ebay's CEO Wenig is only interested in turning profits with fees from his sellers, yet he failed to realize that if we aren't making money, then neither is ebay. This platform lost over $1 billion dollars in sales last month alone compared to the year prior.

What ebay could do right is get rid of Mr. Wenig before he completely destroys what's left of this deteriorating platform.

I am now selling everything at a loss in hopes in to cut my bills before my electricity and internet get shut off, which neither has been paid in months.

I know you've read this advice before ,,  but  try and diversify your sale items . It will help to attract more buyers to your site . Also it's been much more smoother sailing  for my own progress when I stopped putting all of my eggs into one basket  as the saying goes . Tulips

@howmah17

Your comic books are way over priced and the other items are really not so much auctionable items. Try fixed price instead. Auction buyers want the price to start very low and they will bring the price up to the going rate. Very few will bid at auction when the starting price equals the ending price.

Most clothing items I see are shipping for $14.20 to me in Washington State - that alone would stop me from buying - it's higher even than the mail order catalogs.  Here's one example: 202722097985  This item could fit into a flat rate bubble mailer.  Many items can ship at the 2 lb rate which even to me would be about $10.80. I could see the charge for heavy coats and the like, but I also see lots of $14.20 shipping for light items.

It would be good to expand your shipping supplies - I use medium flat rate boxes ONLY for items that weigh over 2-3 lb.

Re: Why r sales so bad? I need some advice - very frustrated

The USPS regional A and regional B boxes are great too depending on how far the item is going. I believe you can put up to 20lbs in them. They have two different sizes for each one as well, square or a rectangle box. I used to use the medium flat rate much more but now I tend to use the regional A & B boxes. I usually pay somewhere between $7 and some change to $10 and some change. Like I stated previously, depends on where it is going. The higher price is if I ship to California, since I am in New York. Just an idea.. I don't know if too many people use them but I can't keep them, I constantly order large amounts at a time. They are great for jewelry lots also that are not over 20lbs or clothing. I have shipped boots, jackets, etc. in them, and I don't sell clothing very much. You are correct some items can definitely be shipped in bubble mailer. I have seen some of the high shipping prices myself. Yes I understand some people build their supply fees and other fees into that cost, but the USPS boxes are free. You are paying for tape and postage. If you have a store on eBay you also get the coupon for supplies and I also order bubble mailers and I use USPS boxes. Really as far a shipping supplies go, I only pay for tape or a little gas in my car but I don't count that since I drop my items at post office on my way to my errands since my post office is only 4 blocks away and I drive past it every day. There is the free pick ups too. I don't know how great that service is since I don't use it, but i know it is there.

Re: Why r sales so bad? I need some advice - very frustrated

I just mentioned the Regional A and Regional B boxes before I read your entire post. I use them so much!! The price is good and cheaper than using a flat rate medium box in most cases. You can put up to 20lbs in them also. I love them and order them all the time. They also come in two sized, one a square type box and the other is like a longer rectangle box. Clothing should fit in those no problem. I don't sell clothing often but I have shipped boots, etc in them. Just made sense.

Re: Why r sales so bad? I need some advice - very frustrated

I took a quick look at your listings and didn't see too big a problem, many have already made good suggestions. What stood out most to me was the items were mostly summer/warm season clothing. And I would reiterate having more listings. Some items had shipping just a bit too high. I would take a little hit on shipping cost and eliminate best offer unless you're desperate to move the item.

Forgot to add, I'm a collector (music) and the term "mint" is pretty sacred. It really  would not apply to used clothing. If it's been worn or even just washed, it's not mint. There are plenty of other adjectives which would be more suitable.
