Why is my shipping listed differently?

I am selling item with 2 pound weight. It shows 9.80 on my screen for shipping fee.. the buyer shows 17.00 for them. Why is that? It shouldn't cost more than 9.00 to ship the item.

Are you looking at your own listing? If yes, you are seeing what the item costs to ship to YOUR zip code. 
Is it this item? It shows $17.05 expedited to my zipcode.

You have set up your listing with calculated shipping, which automatically shows the postage cost from your ZIP Code to the ZIP Code of any member who looks at your listing; when you look at your own listing, you see the postage cost to ship to your own ZIP Code.

Postage cost is based on both weight and distance.  For Priority Mail, the retail postage to ship a 2-pound package to Zone 1 (i.e., yourself) is $9.80, but to ship it to the opposite coast, i.e. Zone 8, is $17.05.  If you purchase your postage labels through eBay it will cost less, but still Zone 8 will cost far more than Zone 1.
