I list a very unique item , The title is the name of my item , I type in that title name and 5 pages of completely irrelevant items is ahead of my item in the search . My problem with this is , When I myself am looking for a specific item and nothing relevant shows up on page one , I am done looking , how can they place irrelevant items ahead of relevant ones. especially when the irrelevant items have no matching key words in their entire ad .Algorithms gone bad . Perhaps Sortbay would be a better name , their motto," Sort through the mess and you might find one".

what is the item and how are you searching? Best Match, newly listed, etc?

We need the exact listing title to check what search results we get. If this is in fact happening, it need to be reported.

You have given us absolutely no useful information to work with.
We don't know what search criteria you are using.
We don't know what item you are searching for.
We don't know what sort you have chosen for the results.
For all we know, those "5 pages of irrelevant junk" could be a match for the search criteria and it might be perfectly reasonable for them to be there. It could also be that your search terms are so broad they could not possibly return meaningful results.
If you are looking for an explanation or advice, you really need to come back and give us better information.
Otherwise, the answer to "Why is my listing on page 5?" is "because that's where it is".
