For those of you who use the Best offer on GTC listings, have any of you experienced it not working properly, or maybe not even at all?
Twice this past week, I was sent offers that were above my accept threshold. In one case, the offer didn't accept and I wasn't notified. In the second case, I at least received a message. The first one was a bitter pill because the item had a higher price point. The threshold was set to accept offers of $750 or higher. The offer was for $800. It didn't auto accept or even send out any notification at all.
I'm a little peeved to say the least.

It is possible the offer was not accepted because the buyer did not meet your buyer requirements and or is located in a region you do not ship to?
Good Luck Selling!

Ouch.
Did you make sure the BO setting was correct on each listing?
Thats all I got, sorry.
Even if it’s a glitch and you report it to EBay, they won’t compensate you in any way.

It was correct on both listings. The guy who bid the $800 even came back and tried $825, but there is no message anywhere, in my eBay mail or my home mail.

I would agree with that opinion.
Too manny sellers & buyers, appear not to have read & understand what is contained within the ebay user agreement & so strenuously argue entitlements that are non existent.

It is not even worth the length of time yOU will sit on the phone with ebay. I do not even bother reporting things. I just buy less and less. Ebay will just tell you something you want to hear but wont back it up.

Just from my own personal experience as I accepted a BO 2 weeks ago and didn't receive payment - the buyer never received a notification that their offer was accepted so when I accepted 2 BOs this week I sent a f/u message after 2 days instead of opening a UPI - the one buyer was away for a few days - the other buyer again never received the message. Both paid after my message.

50% of what I purchase is from the BO feature. I never get a message saying seller accepted it. The only way I know is to go to my purchase history. OP, did you ask the buyer to check their purchase history. They may have bought and not even know about it.

Thanks for making that point. I accepted a best offer a few days ago and don't have payment as well. Gonna go check that out.
Quite disconcerting these missing pieces of communication.

Understandable.
I have had no issues with the Best Offers I have submitted and received prompt messages concerning such.
Perhaps post this on the Tech Issues Board? I checked there and did not see that issue.

F/u message?
Oh, follow up
Whew!

How do you know they sent offers if you didn't get notifications?

If the seller is using Seller Hub you can see a count of the number of "Open Offers from Buyer" on the summary page. Also in the active listings pages you will see "respond to offers" instead of "edit" in the first column.
I check the Open Offers number at least twice a day.

If the buyer adds a message to their offer, the Auto-Accept gets bypassed. You have to manually accept, decline or counter.

That's good to know for sure. I was suspecting there could be a problem when I was accepting Best Offers but wasn't getting payment. I would send a follow-up email telling them I had accepted their offer and sent them an invoice, and it wasn't until after that I would get their payment. Now it's automatic policy for me to invoice and send a follow-up message to confirm acceptance. How ridiculous though that we need to do this!
