I have been trying so hard to get a startup on an eBay business because I need some extra money for college. Just the shipping alone makes it almost impossible to make profit without even factoring in competitive pricing. Then I have these clowns doing this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-PlayStation-4-Launch-Edition-500GB-Jet-Black-Console/302569065102
WHY?! I don't understand why these bots do it! What's the motive? Are they just there to inconvenience you?

What exactly ate those “clowns” doing?
BTW, if shipping costs are preventing you from making money, you’re doing something seriously wrong.

That PS4 is in good but used condition, but there's no way that it's worth $910. Of course, the bot still hasn't paid, and will probably never pay.

Sell it using BIN. Auctions for electronic items like this just invites scammers.

In the link the OP shows a PS4 game system that sold for more than $900, when it is only a $200 - $300 item. I think if he was able to sell one for $900 he wouldn't be having shipping issues, lol.

Do you have any suggestions on a BIN price? I'm not sure its worth, it looks like new but because it was used I don't know how much to sell it for. That's the reason I ended up leaving it in auction so I could see how much people would pay for it, but I guess that idea is a bit skewed now, huh?

Look at BIN sales history. Ignore the auctions.

OP, be prepared for some correspondence soon from the winning bidder wanting an email address and asking you to ship before they have actually paid.

Get as many other Bin's on there as you can. As a new seller, you are likely restricted in the amount you can sell each month. The more you sell, the more $$ eBay will allow you to sell. You wanted to increase your feedback as well to give buyers a little more confidence.

I don't know what "bots" you are talking about in regards to making your sale but I can immediately see a few reasons why you may be having a hard time selling on eBay.
You have very low feedback, and you have never left feedback for anyone else.
- Buyers with low feedback who attempt to sell electronics right at the start are scammer-magnets because the scammers know you don't know what you are doing, and they will use that against you.
- Both sellers and buyers will check to see what sort of feedback you leave for others as a gauge to how you operate--it is much more telling than the feedback you receive. The feedback you get from sellers can only be positive because sellers can't neg; so it's a false positive. If you don't leave feedback yourself, then it shows that you really don't care and that does not leave a good impression.
You are complaining about the cost of postage. Postage should not be your problem. The buyer pays for shipping. Even when you offer "Free Shipping" (which you really should do, by the way, because it drives sales), the cost of the shipping should be built into the price of your item. You should also have a packing plan before you list that item--know how you will prepare it, know how you will ship it, and know what it will cost.
Do you know how to figure your profit margin? If you don't know what it's gonna cost you to sell, you shouldn't until you do. It costs money to make money. There is much to consider: Final Value Fees. PayPal Fees. Postage Fees. Cost of shipping materials (bubblewrap, packing peanuts, boxes, tape). Gas to drive to the Post Office.
And don't forget that you need to save money aside for when there is a problem like returns. It does not matter one bit that you have listed with "no returns" because eBay's Money Back Guarantee will get you every time, and you will be forced to make refunds if necessary.
Have you read all of the vast information that eBay has for newbie sellers? You should. And watch all the available Webinars, too. A lot of things can happen when you sell on eBay, so you need to be prepared.
You say that you are a student, then you know already know what it takes to succeed. Preparation is key. Selling on eBay is comparable to what you are aware of as a student. You need to have the grades to get into a good college; you need feedback numbers to sell on eBay. You need to study to pass tests; you need to be educated on eBay policies and procedures to do well as a seller. You need to get to class on time; you need to ship eBay sales in the right time frame, too.
If you had only an elementary school education, you couldn't expect to get into college and much less expect to do so with a 4.0 the first semester. The reason it is so hard to sell on eBay is that you need experience and knowledge. Even when you have those, it may still be hard but you will be more likely to do well.
I hope that you will read this information as having been shared with good will because it is truly meant that way. I am a small seller, and I have learned a lot of things the hard way. I have to sell to put food on my table. I want other people to be successful sellers, too, because competition is helpful for us all--after all, there would be no eBay without sellers. So I hope that you will keep trying and that you will prepare yourself to be a good seller. You can do this.

@r1diculous_sales I read your post and a bunch of replies from fellow eBologists ... I suggest to ALWAYS charge for shipping, that is the Calculated choice on the listing form in the shipping section.
Auctions work fine, I use them ... all ... the ... time. However, there are some key things to consider when using Auction listings:
1. Auctions should end on weekends - Sunday is the best day but Fri-Sun works.
2. Auctions should end later in the day on the east coast giving move western time zones decnet hours to bid
3. 5 Day Auctions - start Tuesday end Sunday
4. 7 Day Auctions start Sunday and end the following Sunday
5. 10 Day Auctions start on a Thursday, run two full weekends and end on a Sunday.
6. Do NOT use reserve price, there is an upgrade fee for it EVERY TIME the item gets listed
7. Starting Auction price - research what you are selling and see what they SOLD for NOT what people want to sell them for ... in search, over on the left towards the bottom of the search refinements is Sold, check that box, items returned in search will have green prices meaning they sold for that.
8. Starting price should cover your profit, 10% eBay fees and 2.9% PayPal fee, packaging material, etc.
8. You can ad the Buy it Now option if you want to and then check the Immediate payment required on the listing form in th payment section ... a regular Auction with no BIN can not have the immediate payment required checked.
