Why is eBay forcing more expensive priority shipping when I put the brand name in my item title?

Whenever I put the brand name of an item in the title eBay is forcing priority shipping as the cheapest option, instead of first class mail. Why? People search for specific brands and no one wants to pay double the shipping just to find an item easily by the brand. As soon as I remove the brand name from the title, first class mail returns as a shipping option. What is going on?

I just listed an item on my andriod.  

I selected....

"Domestic shipping"

"Flat same cost to all buyers"

"USPS First Class (3 to 5 business days)"

"Cost" (Filled in the blank $5.00)

It works fine for me.  Could it be just your app or your phone that has a glitch?

try putting in the weight and then calculated First Class and see if that works on the app.......

PERFECT. I kept saying I'm able to list with some switching it up if 1st class doesnt show up. Which it doesn't at times now since last week. 

I think if sellers dont use the calculator and enter their cost it can work. I'll go try the calculator on app which in general I dont use

Ok I played around with calculator and 1st class on android app. There are a number of ways to get it to work I have been saying for over a week. Try this.

Click priority option if you dont see 1st class, go back to Delivery screen, go back to Shipping options again...1st class still not there?...select Parcel, go back to Delivery page, go to shipping options again. Now 1st class is there. 3rd times a charm. I repeated this a few times and it worked for me when trying to use calculator.

dh:  Sorry i didn't see this until way later.  I never ever put in the weight and use calculated shipping.  It never dawned on me to try it. 

I'm glad they figured it out though...

They never figured it out, its been over a month and still no calculated shipping first class option on android for several item categories. There are several workarounds that people have come up with but people shouldn't have to spend all of that extra time on each listing.

I even have this problem using my laptop even though I specified First-Class Shipping when I listed the item.

To ship First- Class vs Priority Mail, try the following:

Enter Custom Size (package)

Enter Weight

Enter Size

First-Class comes up as an Option
