Why is EBay literally STEALING From Its Customers?

I have two issues and I know people have posted before that they do not get final value fee adjustments when they have given the buyer partial refunds, but this is STEALING outright. You should be charged a final value fee on the "final total" of the transaction, and if you have given a partial refund then that total after the refund should rightfully be the "final total". It is totally dishonest to say anything different, in my opinion, and they are literally stealing money from me and others who try to be good sellers, which in turn gives their site credibility.

An similar example of this is if someone gave you $5 to buy them something at the store, then you find that the item is on sale or the store gives you a rebate of $2, but instead of giving the person that sent you to the store their full change, you act as if the item was $5 and keep the rest for yourself.

The other scam going on here is voiding a postage label. I voided -2- labels within 2 weeks of each other in May. I didn't see my refund for the postage, so I called 3 times and spoke to different service reps who first "assured" me it was already paid (then relented when I asked him to show me where that was on my transactions and he could not show me), second, he would push this through so I would get it very soon (never happened), then third, he would create a ticket so it would be resolved (why resolve anything when you can just keep the money because your thieves?). Then I just called today and now I am told that the label is over 90 days so the person cannot see it any more in their system. HA!  So if you ever borrow money from someone, just hold them off for 90 days, then tell them their claim to your debt expired.

Does EBay NOT have computers that handle all of these transactions, and reports that show discrepancies in the amount of voided labels and refunds? I'm sure they do but they don't care when they can just ignore you and keep your money instead. I have been on here since 1989 and cannot wait until I no longer have anything to sell.

Really? Ebay is stealing from it's customers?  I would file a police report.

A lot of people no longer understand the concepts of honesty and fairness.  I believe eBay was one of the first corporations on the internet that threw those concepts out the window.  There used to be a college course named "Business Ethics".  It was a required course at one point in time... not sure if that's still "a thing"...

If you continue using those lame selling practices, live with the consequences.

The fence analogy is ridiculous because EBay didn't have to buy anything, then I cut the order in half. There are always adjustments in transactions and until they are complete, the charges are not figured.

If you were at the grocery store, and the cashier rang everything up, then you remembered you already have bread at home so you told the cashier you don't want it, the cashier doesn't take the bread back and still charge you for it.

The bread analogy is not perfect either, because you did not return a loaf of bread to eBay to justify getting money back from eBay.

The contractor should not have to work for free (i.e. tear down the fence) and give a refund on the previous work he did (building the fence the homeowner initially asked for) just because the homeowner changed his mind.

Similarly, eBay should not have to work for free (i.e. to process the refund transaction) and give a refund  on refund on the previous work they did (processing the transaction you initially asked for) just because you changed your mind.

PayPal doesn't keep their fee for receiving money if you refund part of it to the sender, they take off their percentage of that amount they charged just like an honest business does.

Where have you been?   Paypal stopped giving back anything on refunds about a year ago.   You refund with paypal, full or partial, doesn't matter.   Paypal keeps the entire fee.

I just don't discount to the customer.  That solves that problem.  If they do like one woman did and not use the eBay shopping cart, but Buy it Now two items separately, I still ship it in one box and no refunds on the difference.

Your credit card cedits your account if you return something, they don't just say the original transaction is the end all. There are adjustments in transactions and methods to deal with them, acting fairly.

Again, not at all the same. I pay for internet monthly, at the start of the month. If I decide I want to cancel my service halfway through the month, they aren't going to give me a refund for the two weeks that I don't use. It doesn't work like that.

Re: Why is EBay literally STEALING From Its Customers?

I’m s 24 year eBay seller I recently sold 7 items totally about $683.00 the buyers paid sending their money through eBay and eBay has held my money for days stating it should be sent to my bank the next day, it never happens and it’s not on hold which is another excuse to keep everyone’s money, I’m asking the feds to check into this as I am convinced this is a high level scam and theft of possibly millions of dollars.MY ADVICE DO NOT BUY OR SELL ANYTHING FROM EBAY AND DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT.
