Anyone have an answer as to why eBay no longer allows us to search for the highest bid in a completed search (not including shipping) . This just started yesterday for me. Thanks!

Odd - I see price+shipping: highest first, and then price: highest first.

You'd never see the highest bid.
Only the winning bid.
Only the bidder sees his maximum/highest bid, and he will actually only pay one increment over the underbidder.

You'll need to explain more precisely what you are talking about.
When you say "search for", what exactly do you mean?
When you say "bid", what exactly do you mean?
When you say "completed search", what exactly do you mean?
And a screen shot of where you used to find it would clear up a lot of confusion.
For instance, are you in a full page browser or a mobile device?
Call me a skeptic, but your assumption that eBay took something away may be premature.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about doing a search on Completed (or Sold) listings, and not getting the option to sort by "Price: Highest first".

I'm referring to exactly what nobody's_perfect stated. Incorrect use of my words. My apologies.

I am seeing a different list of options. Looks like eBay is making changes and it has not yet spread to all users.

I get the options but none of them hold. Sales are stuck on ENDED RECENTLY and no matter what I do when I CUSTOMIZE my search to SOLD by HIGHEST FIRST it stays on ENDED RECENTLY. If I use the SORT menu (and not CUSTOMIZE) it does not even give me the option of HIGHEST FIRST . I'm also frustrated because the side menu combines both COMPLETED and SOLD together. When all I want is the SOLD

3 months later and no one found an answer. The customize search feature does not work as it was designed to. Most sellers use the "Sold" sort feature to determine pricing of items you have for sale. So you can customize your search to show sold and highest price. But if you leave the page and return, you see that the "Highest Price" as been switched to "Ended Recently". You don't notice the change until you scroll down the listings and see high and low prices mixed, not high -to-low as it should be.
Glitch? Unnanounced Ebay change? There are dozens features that have stopped working or have been disabled this year.
Links that disappeared, for example, find a member . No explanation for that. You can now only search for a seller. Another that stopped working is Seller newsletters . Your ebay subscription has become like a single topping pizza. If you want a better pizza you have to pay for the extras like Promoted Listings and something new in the future called "Highline Ads".
