Why ebay keeps promoting scams on its platform?

Here what they keep saying from ebay CS about eBay rules and policies :

We're committed to providing a secure and fair marketplace for our buyers and sellers. To support this commitment, we've put in place rules and policies that govern our expectations of buyers and sellers, the actions we'll take to keep you safe, and how we'll protect you if something goes wrong.

Re: Why ebay keeps promoting scams on its platform?

In what way is eBay "promoting" scams?

The same way banks promote bank robbery because they don't keep the doors locked 24/7?

They have rules and policies to protect buyers and sellers and it's up to members to know how to use them.

When you get a message like, don't contact them outside of Ebay, they already know how to make the payment.

If they don't pay, open a UPI after 48 hours and close it after 96 hours, then add the ID to your blocked buyer list.

Have a great day.

I did have a CS agent tell me yesterday that starting last October they have been doing more to ban bad buyers. Supposedly thousands upon thousands of people are getting removed from the site.

Perhaps they needed more new accounts for year-end and Q4 totals?  4% time after time gets boring, I understand.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

They don't, they just can't stop it. Luke will never send a message like that.

Re: Why ebay keeps promoting scams on its platform?

Bad analogy here jimmy. Ebay allows blocked or booted scammers to make new accounts and come right back. They allow buyers to return junk or nothing at all and get away with it at other "account holders" expense. Ebay profits from those losses and further profits from the poor service metrics created. A conflict of interest to allow bad buyers to scam for the increase in profits.

Those are very obvious simple ways that ebay promotes scammers to use and abuse that a bank does not. Bank robbers rob the bank. It could be an inside job. But ebay is certainly no bank since they profit from the robberies lol.
