Why don’t my items sell anymore

Why doesn’t my item sell anymore? It’s the same thing and price as people used to pay for it and it still gets views, but nobody buys it. I used to sell multiple a day about a month ago.

I see people selling the exact same item for $10-$15 more than what my listing is ($55-$60) and their listings have a “1,000 sold” banner, so how are they succeeding when I am not?

Hmmmm.....well, maybe someone else will have some other ideas for you.  Your competition, if they are selling 1000's of something, have much greater visibility on the site based on their sheer volume of items.  Sometimes, that is really hard to compete against and likely nearly impossible, with only 6 items listed.

Wishing you the very best.  Hope things sincerely improve for you soon.

I think the 1000 sold is the number of that product that has sold all together on eBay, not from that particular seller.  I could be wrong; but, a Baby Yoda Hasbro plush shows 1479+ sales, but the seller that has that listed only sold 40 of them from the inception  As for your products, it's supply and demand (and tech upgrades), I wouldn't sell anything Google related, ever----maybe switch your sales to Apple.  I find "anything Apple" sells really good.

I’m not sure where those numbers are from but I sold 6 on June 21 and 22 alone. A lot of these were from April and May though

@isource_20

^^^ Those numbers are visible under your Sold listings. Your Chromecast Google TV gadget shows one sale on 6/21 and two sales on 6/22. Then I see one sold on 7/20 and one sold on 7/29. (And there was the 'Shipping Tips' item that sold on 7/3.) This ID doesn't show any sales from April to May.

Looks like you moved a few at $59.99 + $99 s&h... maybe it wouldn't hurt to run a sale, though. Good luck to you.

I sell in the fashion category and we get hit by brands falling through the floor all the time.  Sometimes the brand has had its day (Lularoe) and other times it's hard to figure it out.  Fast Fashion is in style for about 2 seconds.

I hope your wrong about Lularoe, I still have a sizable inventory to sell off.

It has completely tanked for me - I pick up pieces on consignment and the like, though, so I don't have lots to know what is still selling or if volume has anything to do with it.

I notice Lularoe buyers seem to like Auctions. Whenever I put up the option for both, 90% of the time they choose to bid.

I don't get much more than wholesale price but it works for me...

Re: Why don’t my items sell anymore

It can be frustrating when you beat a competitor’s price, yet they keep selling and yours does not. It happens. And trying to figure out how to attract those sales can be hard. But when looking for an answer, i do not believe there is one factor or one smoking gun when figuring out why. It is more likely to be multiple factors all at play. Below are some thoughts that might be helpful.

One reason must be visibility, because apparently these items are in demand when so many other sellers have hundreds sold. So i would concentrate my efforts on trying to raise the item up in Search order. It is a good starting point. With many sellers listing these same devices, the greater your visibility the better your chances to sell.

Ebay doesn't make a mystery of how to improve one’s placement in Search. They cite a number of actions regarding how to maximize your position. Below is a link with those Best Listing Practices outlined. Things like free shipping, having a buyer-friendly return policy, and accurate Item Specifics all play a role. Some you are already implementing.

Note: When looking at your Completed listings, i see you did not offer returns or free shipping and your current listings do. As this change appears recent, hoping they make a difference soon, moving forward.

Another way to increase visibility is with SEO. Below is a link to eBay suggestions on how to improve Search Engine Optimization. Garnering traffic from places like Google and Bing, as well as supporting eBay’s Cassini, could help raise your placement and increase viewers. (I would pay special attention to your titles. Some have punctuation, which can devalue a title and halt inclusion. Others have redundant words, like Brand New, which already appears on the thumbnail in Search results, directly below the title.)

Every small effort helps in the overall—to get some way to offset the fact that the more sales your competition gets, the higher they will move in Search. It is no secret that sales beget sales. Using Promoted listings also helps offset the problem, but the competition also uses Promoted listings. Not everyone gets the top spot.

One last thought, Your listings are really good. Well written, professional. There is one issue with some of your pictures you may want to correct. They are in violation of the Picture policy, see below. Added text is not allowed. Such a violation could drop your listing to the bottom of Search. Other than this issue, your listings are solid, so I would think sales will pick up soon with the gift giving season approaching. Your recent slump might also just be the ebb and flow of retail. Summers can see a decline in sales. We saw a great surge in sales during the pandemic, now things may be leveling off. In any regard, wish you much success and hope sales increase soon.

Re: Why don’t my items sell anymore

I could say the exact same thing word for word .Two years ago I was making anywhere from 3 to 7 sales a week on e bay .Nowadays its about 1 sale a month  if that . I'm dead serious . E bay just isn't worth my time anymore when it comes to selling . In fact this whole site has been on a steady decline . I don't know what they've done  to ruin it  but I doubt this place will be in business for the majority of sellers  for much longer .
