Why don't buyers use the 'Add to cart' feature?

I've had several buyers lately purchase a number of items but not use the Add to cart feature so they can receive one package with a combined shipping discount.

1)  Why don't more buyers use the 'Add to cart' feature?

2) How does one get them to use the 'Add to cart feature'.

Should I just encourage them with a default text in my listings encouraging them to place multiple items in a cart?

You can still combine shipping on multiple orders.  When at the shipping labels page, you just have to put the check next to each item, go to the drop down to print shipping labels, then combine items per buyer.  I have to regularly do this - a bit of a pain, as I have to refund the buyer for the s/h costs.  No, it doesn't seem to matter that I've put the instructions in my listings, or that I have a combined shipping promotion.

This absolutely does not work - combining shipping on separate purchases - on GSP orders.  Once paid in GSP, there is nothing I can do.

Sellers don't have to manually add the tracking numbers - you can combine multiple orders into one shipment, via the orders waiting to ship page.

that's what I do . But I've had buyers ask me to send the combo invoices for items in their shopping cart . I tell them I can't send them a invoice until they win items . I tell them about the request invoice buttom , and they say it's not there , or it will not work , or they can do that on there I phone , even had one say the can't do it on their PC . Then I tell them to pay on their own , and I will refund the unneeded extra shipping money. Some will do that, but other get mad and don't buy anything .
