Why does ebay allow buyers to enter obscure characters in their address fields?

I have a buyer who used this character string ᏩᏕ ᎦᎵᏍᎨᏫ as the recipient. Ebay expects sellers to ship items to the exact postage address given by buyers, then they let buyers enter garbage like this. Ebay's postage system doesn't even recognize other alphabets and characters of other countries, let alone this.

So ebay just spits out the postage as blank where the characters should be or just X's. Thus giving potential of the package not being delivered correctly, especially if it's on hold for pickup.

all I can say is that ebay addreses are not taken seriously

take pitney bowes for example.they shoud be in chage of vetting the registration addresses for ebay but they do not

registration address often clash with shipping address even when they are the same basic thing

its a format problem.no zipcodes in Hong Kong for the most part so why does PB ask for them

it coud be a foreign buyer with shipping problems for the name

PB ebay shipping can match and mingle Chinese characters and English letters together just fine.

postal regulations call for a translated phoenetic english style name instead of charachters or in  addition to them

this is only for the recipients name

the format breakdown problem is still alive and well in ebay land for international addresses

ebay does not care about ths problem at all

it was a sympathet ic CSR who clued me into this oversight

when you see the words null/void  XXX in an address its a format problem

I have shipped over 5,000 international packages with ebay shipping and its a drag to even try to understand the backwards  logic of ebay with regard to format issues

PB runs  the shipping show for the  USPS..why cant it mesh with ebays registered address for buyers
