For many years, I have found myself drawn to the link sporting those beautiful and comforting words "Community" looking for a bit of camaraderie, kinship, just feeling connected because, Lord knows, full time eBay can be an awfully lonely job - especially when you're a one person team. I have never been able to go to the Online Community Forum and engage a thread or a comment with more than a fleeting glance before a rapid retreat back into the safety and sanity of my personal account. Once at home , surrounded by listing drafts, store improvements, and marketing strategy - I vow not to return to the community again until it lightens up in the feelings and resentments area.
Never have I voiced my own thoughts or opinions to the seller news announced by staff, updates provided by the techies and new tools being offered by the platform in the attempt to make seller's lives a wee bit less difficult. In good faith, the men and women employed within these smaller projects put themselves in our shoes in order to provide a better way of doing the tasks we do over and over each day.
The above I have typed so lightly on the keys of my laptop so I can bang this out with every bit if force my fingers can muster... "If things are so terrible on this platform, if eBay is intent on running you into financial ruin, if it is so much better anywhere other than selling on eBay... WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?" This is the perplexing inquiry of the ecommerce ages, possibly the most important question to be lobbed at such a large miserable herd of whining and pitiful crybabies ever assembled on an ecommerce platform in the internet's short lifespan.
If you actually believe that it is the intent of this platform to come up with immensely intricate schemes and institute plans so nefarious just to create obstacles for your sales that they're willing to sacrifice their own success and keep ebay's shareholder's from making a tidy profit- if that is the case you are making every time you open your soup cooler on a public page, forum, website, blog, etc. - you are nuttier than a snickers and should have your head examined right away. But please leave this community first, I'm tired of hearing you talk.
Now, do I think all of eBays ideas are winners? Absolutely not! Do I think they try the occasional bonehead move to punish the very ones who bring in 100% of the revenue - Hell to the no and so maybe you could restrain yourself to only 1 hairbrained accusation per quarter so that those of us wanting to only have a light hearted discussion with our kinsmen within eBay. If that is too much to ask of you negative nancys - then KICK ROCKS! How about any other eBayers who'd like something positive for a change, why don't you comment?

I don't know about anyone else, but I comment much less than I used to because I've gotten sick and tired of being called a shill or a cheerleader every time I try to point out when people are misinformed about ebay's rules/policies or explain the proper way to handle an issue they're having.

I didn't see that as the intent of @toptierties post at all (I even read it twice to make sure I wasn't missing something). Rather what I read was ENOUGH of this constant whining, if it's so bad then just leave. Nothing was said about helpful posters not bringing value to this forum.

Wasn't sure - read it several times.
While the same posts get tiring, not everyone posts here regularly, so they're just posting about their issue(s).
Maybe it does seem redundant, but between all the chaos, I still learn something almost every day.
Maybe it is a tortured path some days, but what you glean from reading here is valuable.
I belong to an offsite Seller group that was formed about 2015. The whole reason it was formed was to connect, trade ideas. There are only a few of us left selling here or Amazon and people are so busy, we often trade texts but not group posts and more.
Maybe the OP should decide what "community" would mean to them. For a new poster, they certainly have strong opinions about the Seller boards. This is not likely to ever be unicorns and rainbows on here.
Hopefully, the OP joins in. Might suggest a posting ID as they lobbed quite a few insultive names in their OP. Especially for someone who wants nice".

I think that is a posting ID, actually.

I see 209 listings, Memphis, TN

Maybe I am mistaken but I believe you are the one who already had a topic removed today for bashing those who come here to help. Hopefully I am wrong because once you have a topic removed you cannot start a new one all over again.

I remain because I still find eBay to be a viable platform for selling things although I have, like many, diversified to a multitude of other platforms. Make no mistake however my loyalty is not to eBay or their shareholders but to the sellers using this forum. I stay to provide any help and assistance I can to the seller community in the hopes that I can help them avoid some of the mistakes and pitfalls that I experienced over the years of selling on this platform.

The impression I got from the OP is that they are directing this to the naysayers who complain daily about eBay. That's how I read it at least.
I feel the same about the daily complainers, why are you still here? I get that people want to rant, but a rant is a one time post then you go away. There are three individuals who pretty much daily post on here about how bad eBay is, and how they are going to take your children and your guns away from you, etc. I don't understand how they spend so much of their time writing on here the same complaints. Over and over, as if their goal is not to help or warn anyone else, but simply just to post negative comments.
There is one in particular, who when he is calm he actually makes a lot of sense and can write honest observations. However that lasts all of two posts, then he starts raging again and repeating himself from his last several posts, or brings up the same story over and over, ad nauseum. When he gets like this, he's not adding anything to the conversation nor answering whatever the thread was originally about. At that point he is simply trolling. How does he have the time to do this daily? SMH....

Good idea. You're absolutely right. eBay IS NOT WORTH IT. Between all the wasted time on support, losses in both sales and purchases. The pain in the ass just trying go get support to being with and Now the eternity it takes to get paid because they're playing man i the middle with the transactions and they haven't a clue how to do it. Heck, I'm trying to remove my bank account from ebay as we speak and I can't! And I've been trying to get support for over a week. The hours wasted really add up to a loss no matter how much business you do on ebay because they more business you do the more wasted time you're going to have to do dealing with support or I should say the lack of support. Morons probably failed to higher more support personal and failed to account for all the support calls that used to go to PayPal now it's all just them. I'm looking for alternatives and If i can't find one I'm going to make one cuz i know **bleep** well this can be done better.

I stay for the free entertainment and,
It keeps me off the streets.
I don't see anybody trying to censor the complainers on these boards. I also do not see anybody
trying to censor the helpful or more positive posters.
My Mother said, "You only get what you put into it."

We stay because, well, it is a chat forum, and that is what happens on a chat forum, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Where else to do it? I like it all, well, except for direct insults. The thing is everyone, you included, have a choice about staying or going.

If I understand correctly, you are not asking why do people stay on the Boards, but why do people continue to sell on ebay, when they are so unhappy with it?
Some posters here no longer sell on ebay. Some sell here and are, relatively speaking, happy with it....like you, not necessarily happy about all aspects, but satisfied enough to stay. And others are very unhappy here but remain because.....well, I can't answer that, because I'm one of those who is relatively happy. If I were really unhappy, I'd be gone.
Still, to each his own, as they say.

I read a topic yesterday that was removed of someone bashing those that are here calling them names and such. I "assumed" this was the same person and should have read the context better. This one is opposite asking why those that hate Ebay are here. 😄
