How often do sellers recieve positive feedback? For every 10 items I sell, maybe a single buyer would leave positive feedback. And I sell used, but good items for cheap prices. I pack everything nicely, write a nice little note on the packing slip requesting feedback in a very nice way, I always leave feedback on the buyers first, etc.. And yet, most buyers that purchase my items ignore all of that and don't give feedback.
Is this normal? I'm a new seller btw.

I have absolutely no idea who has or hasn't left me feedback and really don't care.... one repeat buyer, I think now has over 100K feedback, all from buying, and hasn't left a single feedback..... and I do not care....

EB..
So is this your Posting ID? Because under this name---you have a 0% Overall
Feedback Score and no Listings. And your last sale was more than year ago.
So maybe you do not care because you are not an active Seller anymore?

This is a posting id now..... thanks for noticing....
I have other selling IDs.... granted I do always wish they were more "active".
I do not care, because feedback does not matter AND I have no control over the actions of other people, so why worry about it?

hUh! I think that was not a realistic hpypothesis on your part. I look at Overall Scores and I read Negs Neuts and I look at the DSR rating given to seller on MY highest priority ---which is "item as described.:" I do not care whether seller has 3,000 Positives. In fact I am sometimes worried that those with mega-high feedback numbers are BAD sellers who fool newbies into thinking they are high quality sellers----even though sometimes they at not good at all.
AND by using MY criteria---I have only gotten stuck with a bad transaction--once---in all these years.

Why worry about it? If you get one or two Negs---and you have only a low number of Positives ---then those Negs could RUIN your Feedback page. And then how are going to convince new customers to buy from you?

It is very normal these days. Honestly after you're on eBay for awhile you'll see how little value the feedback system has anymore. It does still give buyers a feeling of confidence when they see lots of good FB but there are so many other things a savy buyer can look into on any seller. As a seller your hands are tied to leaving only good FB and I've even had sellers request not to leave that. It's a broken system. Badgering buyers for feeback only looks bad. It's best to accept what you get over time and concentrate more on all the other things in your business that matter so much more.

some do some don't..people are lazy, it all voluntary....
you got paid right?... they din't return it. refund requested, leave negative feedback? then leave sleeping bears alone...
the feedback system is silly overall...yes it's needed for somethings, but don't lose sleep...
and that all I am going to say.

eBay is not the community it once was. New buyers these days just want to order their stuff and get it. They have nothing invested here. Kind of like I am with Amazon. I only go there to buy stuff. Once I order it I don't go back until the next time I want to order something...or if there is a problem.
I think the last time i figured it up my percentage was around 25%. It used to higher but feedback has petered out quite a bit.

Oh I think you misunderstand.....
You (or I) do not control other people. If a stranger doesn't want to leave feedback why would I get bent out of shape? I can't force him/her to leave feedback. I can't force him to feed the homeless or wear Mukluks just because I think he should and I don't get offended when they don't do those things either. Maybe he has something more important to do in his life. If I have no power over something why should I worry about it? I do the best I can, I describe accurately, I pack safely, mail quickly, under promise and over deliver and IF they leave feedback it is their choice and I am grateful for it, and if they don't I am perfectly fine with that.... I am happy they chose me to purchase their item from..... and I hope they buy from me again and not leave feedback again if they want.

I haven't been getting much feedback at all. I start questioning if my items are actually not that good or what, but wouldn't you think they would try to return them if so. I do offer returns. I have no idea, if many buyers are just lazy or what. I sold this really nice piece a few months ago to a lady, and never heard a peep. Not sure what to think, but I find it really aggravating.
