I just tried to relist and old listing and I got a pop up saying my listing capabilities have been temporarily suspended and to contact customer service (which I did) does anyone know why this would have happened? The only thing I can think of is that I asked a seller to cancel a bid I made the other day but I don’t see why that would warrant me being suspended especially since I just bought a yearly subscription to a store

Asking to cancel a bid wouldn't have affected your listing capabilities. What did the 'suspension notice' say?

You got tons of live listings, what do you mean suspended?

You've sold 29 items since your eBay birth of Feb 6th of this year. You've probably reached your limit as a new seller. What did that suspension say?
You don't receive many feedbacks as a seller, is there a problem going on with shipping?

I guess it’s technically not a suspension but rather a hold,

Confirm/provide the information they are requesting, and yes there is a world of difference between a 'hold' and a suspension or the myriad of other scary words that get bandied about here LOL

I didn’t know who I should contact because they make it so **bleep** hard to talk to anyone over there. They never sent me an email telling me exactly where to go so I messaged their ask eBay account on twitter because they helped me with a different problem before. Hope they can fix it soon! Just got back from the goodwill bins with lots of goodies to list

listing capabilities have been temporarily suspended and to contact customer service (which I did) does anyone know
----------
So what did they tell you?

UPDATE: called customer service and they explained that because I had sold 30 items in the first month they wanted to make sure I was actually the person running the account, they had also seen that I canceled a couple customer transactions when I first opened my account and felt it was suspicious activity, I explained it was me canceling scammers orders that I was frequently getting when I first opened my account and they happily lifted the restrictions

You are a brand new seller, this may simply be the new seller listing limit's kicking in or are they needing proof of purchase for items you are selling? You need to contact CS as advised.
To speak to a rep, scroll down to the bottom of any page and click "Contact us" In the chatbot that opens type in AGENT then press Send to bypass the bots You will see options to Chat live with an agent, or request a call back

Good and congratulations on spotting the scammers who plague new sellers.
What reasons did you use for the cancellations?
"Buyer Request" and "Problem with Address" have no blowback on your selling account, but be careful with Out Of Stock which gives you a Defect.
And Report those scammer accounts - more for your own sake than for anything else, since they will be long gone.

I used buyers request,
