Would like to ask that you remove the 10% fee on shipping. That would help our selling, we have to pass this on to the costomer. We don't see this as part of the selling price. Please help us with this, it seem unfair to charge this fee on top of the selling fee. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I hope this is a joke.

It makes it fair to ALL sellers regardless if they charge shipping as an extra or include it in the price as "free shipping".
A secondary reason is fee avoidance, charging a low price for an item and inflating the shipping charge.

The fee is based on the entire cost - item + shipping. And ebay is not about to change that.

You are charged a 10% fee on the total amount the buyer pays.
That 10% fees amount is on the cost of postage, the cost of packing materials and containers, the cost of fees paid to PayPal, the initial acquisition cost you paid out for the item you are selling, the expense you have invested in it in materials and products to do repairs or clean/polishing, the transport costs you may have paid out to get your merchandise shipped or brought in to your place of business. And a portion of what the buyer pays you has to cover the expenses of operating your office, computer, record-keeping system, printers, label papers, toners, inks, etc. etc. etc.
So the buyer sends you a total amount of money, and it isn't just fees on shipping that are to be covered by what that buyer sends, it ALL of your expenses.
So of all of those expenses you pay out, why would you single out just one of them (shipping) and wonder about a fee on just that portion, when in truth... the ebay fees are on ALL of those costs.
Your big worry is that you have profit left for your pocket or purse after it's all covered.
Otherwise, you might question WHY eBay charges a fee on the amount you had to pay to buy the item for resale... Same difference.

You could sell on Amz and pay 15%...
Add all of your fees, costs, expenses and profit into the item price.

It's best to look at this as just the way eBay is calculating fees, rather than specifically a fee on shipping. When eBay added the fee on shipping, they also dropped the fee on the item itself from 12% to 10% in many categories. So some sellers (with pricey items that ship cheap) saw a huge reduction in total fees while others (with cheap items and high shipping) see much larger total fees.
You currently have a $1000 item with $30ish shipping. You are FAR better off paying 10% on both than 12% on the item and nothing on the shipping.

I am fortunate that my items are low in weight, so I can offer free shipping. Also, every seller has the option of including shipping prices with the item sold. Now eBay still takes it's fee. But what if you increase your price by that 10% that ebay will take? It becomes an mute point and a very small amount of money.
There are ways of getting around some things that may upset us, but in this case, I don't think it's such a big issue, for me that is.

Ebay has been asking this enumerable times and they have not changed it.Of course you must pass all your fees on to your buyers. That is the nature of selling things.Setting your price taks in all your costs including paypal and ebay fee, your acquistion cost, desired profit, and all overhead like shipping materials etc

As with all venues eBay charges a fee on the "total price" of the transaction
I think eBay is doing us a favor by breaking it down --- makes the tax burden easier to calculate ...

Makes it even more "fair" to eBay.

EBay used to not charge seller fees on the shipping cost, until some jabroneys started selling $500 items for $20, with $480 shipping charge to dodge EBay fees.

But why not shut them down instead?

Why not just get them to pay their share like the rest?
This way, they can continue selling on eBay, buyers can continue to shop and buy their merchandise offerings here, and eBay can continue to have them as a seller and earn their fees from them, as they do with us all.

Accept it. It will not change and soon enuf the rates will be going up. With shipping and with ebay fees.
