Hello All, I sell costumes for Halloween on line. I've been trying to fine my listing and there is so many sewing patterns mixed in with the costumes. I make my costumes but when I look for costumes I don't want to look at patterns. I don't think the people looking for costumes want to have to sort through all these pages. Wouldn't it make more sense to give Halloween patterns their own page. Thanks, Roberta

People who don't want to look at patterns mixed in with the costumes can exclude them from their search by either using the advanced search form or just putting -pattern in the search terms.
Patterns do have their own category, over in the sewing department.

I just wanted to add that whenever possible add the word Halloween into the title as people search for Halloween Costume. I see you did on some of your listings.
eBay can't control the sellers that list in the wrong categories, their listings are removed if caught, so you just have to use the best titles you can and fill in the item specifics as much as possible.

I disagree. A Halloween Costume Pattern is still a Halloween Costume that you could make.
Some people make them, and some buy ready to wear...
If I was to list a Halloween pattern, I might use both categories.

There wouldn't be that much of a problem if search was by Key Words like it used to be. The eBay Search Algorithm always gives you items that you are not looking for in hopes you will click on something, anything to buy it.
I have the same problem when I search for things and it brings up patterns and then actual hand made items. It is very frustrating when you are looking for Just patterns or Just handmade items.

If you use a minus sign next to the words you do not want the search to find or quotation marks around words or phrases that must be included in your search (along with a number of other search refinements), you'll have a lot better luck with your search results.
So, in this case, try these search refinements:
-pattern
or
"handmade"
The search will then exclude any listings with pattern in the title or description (assuming you've clicked on the box that includes searching the description) and will return only results that include the word handmade.
There are a number of these kinds of search refinements that can be found with an online search.
