I am finding that eBay is automatically sending offers to buyers without my consent. When I look on my active listings screen it shows I can click on send offers to a number of buyers but next to it keeps coming up send offers - sent. When I click on that it shows they have been sent an offer. This is not when someone has made an offer it is just offering discount. I already use voucher codes to show discounts so why... Who is controlling my account me or eBay?

When you originally sent offers in the past you had the box checked that allows eBay to automatically send offer to other interested prospective buyers in the future. So basically when someone views your item for an extended period of time or adds it to their watch list they will then receive the offer that you created sometime shortly thereafter.

The answer straight from eBay is on "old listings" they send offers without your knowledge or permission and there is no way for them to turn it off. The offered 40 percent off several of my items and STILL CHARGED THEIR FEE.

A year on & this has just happened to me, what triggered my offers being sent was me refusing a too low offer from a very interested buyer who will probably buy the item at a later date.

Then out of the blue, eBay sends offers LOWER than the offer I had received & refused from her, LOWER than my minimum offer on my listing, to 11 other watchers.

I only learned this because it was in my watchings list in another of my eBay accounts which is linked to my daily email account, I was a fluke that saw the notification.

What lunacy is this?

I admit to having sent offers to buyers for long standing items, but I have lost count of the amount of buyers who send counter offers to offers sent, & to date, not a single item has been sold via a buyer sending a counter offer, for they never pay.
