I’m starting to consider leaving eBay after putting in a huge amount of work & being left with never any logical answers from an agent.
@ebaymembers
when I looked at my seller dashboard around 2 weeks ago- it was at 94 for the year. I talked to an agent on the phone who seemed friendly & was told the 3 essential oils I’d just sold would then take my yearly total up to 97. Ok so easy- 94 + 3.
Then I sold a Mink Pink Top so 98. (All sent).
I sold another top on auction this wk, tracking is in so 99.
The agent on phone said ‘the items had to be sent before my dashboard would update’.
so… why is it still at 94? 2 weeks after this conversation?
I feel like it’s becoming more of a stress not enjoyable like it used to be- as my dashboard does not reflect the basic 12 month sales even after chatting to an agent who said the above- there appears no motivation to sell on eBay anymore?
Lastly, I have a bid on an item so then my total will be 100. Theoretically with the amount in $ and items and what is required- I should then be a Top Rated Seller again like I was for 2 years? That is also what the agent on the phone told me.
Can anyone help me with this? Or has anyone else found this same issue?
It’s the principle that really gets to me. I didn’t have any issues w ebay until Jan of this year & my sold items just were not being added up. (I’m not talking about the monthly change either but the stock standard 12 month period).
Hope someone can help? @links to members @ebay members
Would greatly appreciate any advice on this. ✨

The dashboard reports on the total number of sales for the past year and currently is showing sales for March 1, 2021 through Feb 28, 2022, so none of your March sales are counted yet. They will be added in next month, but of course, the sales from March 2021 will then drop off since it is a rolling year.

Maybe some old transactions from 12 months ago rolled off.

Your transactions roll off every single day to keep the 12-month total accurate. This is whats called a rolling total. I do agree that's its annoying but the easiest way to figure out how many sales you have gotten is go to your sales tab(under the traffic tab) and you can go quarter by quarter to add the numbers up. I print out my monthly sales reports for my own records so I can keep track but that's probably the easiest way. I don't know how much you sell but keep in mind that if you sell 400 or more items in a 3-month period, eBay will evaluate you on a 3-month basis instead of a 1 year basis which can makes things much easier in the future if you end up losing your top rated seller status.

Stop focusing on this silly metric and focus on getting more and building it. Once you build yourself up you won’t even have time to worry about that you’ll be so busy working and the finances you won’t have to worry about anymore

Mandi "hit the nail on the head." The OP will indeed be fortunate, if their current problem is the worst they ever experience on eBay.

Two weeks ago was March 2, so the 94 total you saw two weeks ago showed sales from March 3, 2021 through March 2, 2022.
Today is March 16th, so the 94 total you see today shows sales from March 17, 2021 through March 16, 2022.
So while the total you see today is increased by your qualifying sales from Mar 2, 2022 through March 16, 2002, it is also reduced by the sales from March 3, 2021 through March 17 2021 because those dates are no longer in the past 12 months.
I think you are forgetting that the past 12 months is a moving window, so for every day of sales that is included there is a another days of sales that drops off.

Thanks @fern*wood
It was an innocent question so Mandy’s response was unnecessary.
I don’t know how I became a Top Rated Seller in the first place- I was one for the majority of the time I’ve been selling on eBay & have been trying to work out the metrics for now. And I’ve left out a huge chunk of issues in Jan 2022 where my sales were at 97 on the 22nd.
Also- I did say, it was the principle more than anything else. My buyers are happy & I have 100% feedback- I was just told what I wrote above directly from an agent on the phone hence why I was confused re why the yearly sales hadn’t gone up with my recent sold items like she told me.
im pretty over it now and appreciate all the helpful comments especially this last one. I personally find the new system extremely frustrating as I get told 20 different reasons from different agents.
Anyway! Back to life!

How rude! If you don’t have anything helpful to say- the old adage saying of ‘don’t say anything at all’ Is usually a good principle to live by!

Thanks @laststopgeneralstore @for your detailed answer. Much more helpful than the 2 others telling me to stop being silly! Great to get just some basic knowledge finally from the majority who answered.

This is a great explanation. Another way to think about it is that it is on a Fiscal Year, not a calendar year. A fiscal year being a 12 month period of time that does not start on January 1 of any year.
So our Feedback numbers. They are on a fiscal year as you described.

Hey, you know what, don’t take advice from someone that makes a million a year. The less of you that succeed means more money in my pocket anyway.

@mandisattictoyz Sorry did I miss your answer to the question? If I did, please could you repeat it like the other sellers have as it seems if you are earning millions of dollars, you would definitely know the answer to my question on yearly numbers. I’d appreciate your knowledge on this now knowing you make a million a year! I look forward to your answer. 😊
