I know I'm not alone with the way I feel about ebay's new pay plan. Who's leaving and what other platform have you found for selling?

I have been on ebay since 2007,  my wife since 1996.  Between us, we have pretty much seen it all.  We do not do much on ebay anymore but not solely due to MP.  We used to do at least 100 sales per week just 4-5 years ago. It just is not worth the headaches anymore.

Mainly it is the lack of true seller protections, huge increase in scammers and the "I want it my way even if I am wrong" buyers. The last straw really was now being forced to accept foreign payments which we previously were able to chose not to accept. I only did some selling this past year due to being shut in so much due to covid.

We do much better on other sites when we want to sell. I will still do a little here off and on but nothing like I used to. Gives me more time to enjoy my other new hobbies I took up!

I used to think this and then found out we can hide behind another ID with zero feedback just to post.  I don't do that.  What you see is what you get with jayjaspersgarage.  No games means no shame.

Managed payments are EVERYWHERE

most sites have limited sales

Do not close your store, you will learn to regret it

Why are you having trouble with MP?

After ten years I am debating whether to stay or go.  It has nothing to do with managed payments or even the GTC policy for fixed price listings.  In fact managed payments opened the door for me to list an additional 10,000 items or lots in collectables with my store.  MP has worked out fine for nine weeks.  I don't even think about it.  I get a deposit every Tuesday morning.

I can only think of one site that is like that.  And sales come once a year.

I guess they didn't get the memo on that some posters use a different id dedicated to posting.

I use my (THIS) buyer account as my posting ID, while I have 2 selling IDs since 1999. I don't want other nosy people to peak and see what I sell and get ideas from my listings, I have too many competition as it is. 😎

And you know this because...

In selling, speaking from my 51 years in it, no one takes a customer (or listing in this case) you lose that customer.  If you have done the best job with your listing and provided the best pricing it should not matter what anyone sees or knows about your listings.  Having a separate ID to talk is hiding.  If you are not comfortable with what you are saying, don't say it.

Well, I'm leaving or RETIRING from eBay after 22 years on this platform. It's been enjoyable for the most part. From the days of receiving payments through snail mail to the past year of selling as a hobby and staying out of trouble. Haha! 

My official date of retiring is this Tuesday, that's the date of my MP registration deadline. eBay gave me notice to register about a month ahead, so listed everything and I sold most of my stuff at cost or a bit of a lost.  The new INSUFFERABLE seller's page, along with the NEW mangled payment system. It's as good as time as any to make like a tree and leave (RETIRE). 

Anyway, Master Po told me the same, Gotta listen to my Master:
