Hi all,
The last two weeks have been awful in regards to sales. I barely have any watchers and had one sale last week. It's like my listings just fell off the map. There are always ups and downs on eBay but in my 10 years of selling I have never seen this. I've checked everything that I can think of.
Anyone else experiencing the same?

If you do a quick search on this board in the search bar at the top - Many threads on no sales, no traffic, no impressions, sales have tanked, hit a cliff.
We are all waiting patiently for it to stop and sales to resume.
Unfortunately, it appears we might be in this holding pattern a while, which is stressful and concerning.
At least we are seeing from the posts on here and other boards, it affects many posters right now.
Posters seem to have more questions than answers. Hoping for a quick solution so Q4 can be fruitful.

I'm buying at antique shows and flea market and antique shops. Always seem to go home broke.

it can't get much worse than this. Hope it turns around soon. 😢😭😿

The way things are going in the world, I think it's going to get a lot worse, before it gets any better.

Ebay is tinkering again. I noticed one commenter mentioned that they could be purposely devaluing themselves. I would interpret that to mean that pretty soon ebay will be owned by someone else(amazon). I predicted it years ago when ebay was bigger than amazon. No one believed me but things are moving so fast and entities you thought were rocks are crumbling like sandcastles(post office). The site is already full of amazon sellers. I believe if those sellers stopped selling, ebay would collapse over night. I don't know the structure of ebay's board but have to believe this is going to happen in the near future. The site is being converted into an amazon site. This has been going on for years. I see a bumpy road ahead. Amazon doesn't like amateurs. They have way more rules, way less seller protection.

Not if you give Ebay more $$$ and pay for PLA's !!! 😁 🤣

Thank you for your reply. I didn't even consider that possibility but it sounds very plausible. It's freaking me out. I started selling as a hobby to make a little extra money, but it turned into a business. I have to work from home to care for my husband.
Here's hoping it works out for all of us.
Take care.

I wish I could say that it's comforting to know I'm not the only one, but it's not. So many of use depend on this to make a living.
Hoping for the best for all of us.
Thanks for your reply.

I also have thought the same!
Why are they jacking up their own platform and upsetting their customers (the sellers)?
eBay is unique and they don't think about that and take advantage of it! No advertising! No seller protection!
I believe their employee's are too young to understand any category that is older than themselves. I say that because the new generation wants nothing to do with their parents or grandparents items. If it has no association to social media or video games, trash it!
Everyday on the news they seem to cover Apple and Amazon for stupid stuff. Where is eBay? Are the networks getting paid or is the news just filling in space for their 4+ hour repeated broadcast?
I'm hanging in there with eBay, but the light at the end of the tunnel is very dim right now!

@moore*moxie Just keep going - consistency is key. I personally don't believe eBay is positioning itself for sale or anything else. What they ARE verifiably doing is tinkering with the site (changing categories, item specifics, etc.) to the point where search is not working very well, and we're left to be "patient" and deal with the fall-out. They always do this kind of thing at the worst possible moment (Q4 holiday run-up). October 2019 they hit the Fashion section with the exact same thing they're doing with antiques, etc., and many of us lost sales - mine went off a cliff and that was unusual for me (I was full time at that moment). Between our continuing to list and fix listings, and eBay kinda sorta fixing things, sales came back.
I suspect, despite the horrible timing, this will be the case for many other categories. Also, jewellery sales seem to be down right now - you have nice pieces and I think they will start moving again closer to the holidays (popular time for jewellery sales, along with February).
As I said - just keep going. Try to expand your listings if you can (i.e., more items, more categories).
(keep forgetting to tag)

Good luck.

It's insane right now. If I'm designing a website the drop down menu is definitely going to cater to a couple major holidays. I mean they don't even have a separate Christmas category. Without even looking it up I guarantee just decor alone sells more than the other categories given their own section. Maybe someone on the inside is being bought off? Hmmm I wonder what will happen to the whistle blowers? amazon drone strikes? This is crazy.

They've been down for quite a while; that much has nothing to do with eBay. I work in a B&M chain department store and our jewelry sales have been dismal for months now outside of the inexpensive, casual stuff that you could wear every day. People just aren't buying that kind of thing right now.

Me too, sales just went to hell, unless I lower the price so much that I make a couple bucks. And when I do sell, I Hardly get any feed back, I leave good feed back right after someone pays, And 95 0/0 of the time I do not get any back , So I guess I wont leave any feed back any more.
