I offer "free" shipping. I remember when getting offers or counter offers from buyers that I could find the buyer's zip code to aid in determining acceptance of an offer. This morning I looked all over in regards to a counter offer from a buyer and could not find that information. And yes, I did message the buyer asking directly, but it would be much easier to see the where I would have to ship the item. The cost difference between shipping to either a neighboring state or across the country can be significant.

@m60driver wrote:I have no idea how to create a screen shot. But not that long ago I could see the zip code on the "response" page when I made an offer to an individual. That information was no longer showing the past two days. It may have just been a temporary glitch, a ghost in the machine so to speak. Fortunately the buyer did respond to my question and we were able to agree on a price between our two offers.
So another eBay seller (@penguins_dont_fly) here helped me to run a test and made an offer of $1.00 on one of my listings. Thank you @penguins_dont_fly.
In that offer the buyer's zip code as well as their city and state were visible.
But I have never seen what appears to be a newly added feature located on the right side of the screen Active on site, Views, Watchers, Similar Items Sold.
This leads me to believe that eBay has been doing some work recently to this best offer response window. This could be what has led to the buyer's location not showing up for you and other sellers.
Sometimes those kids at eBay break stuff even while trying to make things better. At least that would be my guess.

Greetings To All, I have noticed the same thing happening. When it tells me shoppers have items in their shopping carts, I am keeping it easy for my customer and for myself, the less stress, the better. I am a Flat Rate Priority Shipper, Just makes it easier, if I notice, I had overcharged, on shipping, I immediately alert the customer and send a paypal refund, for their extra shipping. I know we all set up our preferences differently. I decided to stay homebound, my decision, as our State of New Jersey is hit badly, My mail man has worked out with me, so I can ship daily, also.

Yeah … I was going to mention that 😞
Note the discrepancy on what go-bad sees as comps in their screenshot.
Buyer sees 10-500 on their original offer screen
Seller sees 40-500 on the review offer screen
😞

Offer sent.
Thanks for the help Penguin . $1.00 offer received.
Your location showed up for me.
So it could be a glitch or it might be a browser issue or it could be those gremlins at eBay.

Nice pick up. Sneaky eBay we see you!🤔

Here's what comes up when I click the "declined" notification … the screen to make another offer.
This time the comps show 32-500
What I also noticed is that shipping is not shown to the buyer on the original offer screen anymore. Nor is the blurb about "offers are for the item only" 😞

The comps changing is very interesting. I have just changed my auto decline settings to $99.00.
Would you mind running one more test and just open up the make an offer window to see if the comps shown to you the buyer have changed in any way since I have now changed my settings? There is no need to actually make an offer this time but just open the window. I am curious to see if the price recommendations go up at all. If so can you take another screen shot?

Well ... this is interesting … there are NO comps shown now.

That is very interesting. I am not quite sure what to make of that. I have to think about this for a minute.
If I had to guess I would say that some type of decision making tree was enabled after I changed my auto decline settings to $99.00 that made a decision that eBay's AI would no longer provide the buyer with price guidance comps, after I made those changes.
But at this point that is just complete speculation on my part.

You'll probably appreciate this example I posted in November:

I've noticed that often times, the zip code info doesn't show until you click to respond, THEN it shows. Just dealt with that yesterday.
