Did you mean:

Where are all the customers?

Did somebody forget to put out the "open" sign?  Are we closed?  I can't support a family on this!  I've been working hard to keep my site updated.  I add new listings constantly.  I use promotions above the "suggested rate".

Where are the customers?  They were just here not to long ago.

Or is it just me?

Sincerely,

A man with 3 children to feed...  Including one that's only 6 months old.

P.S.  Please fix whatever is broken.

Hey, my friend.  I want to ask you a question.  Do you believe that, if you do a search for a particular item, there is a possibility that you will not see every single one of those listed by every single seller?  If you agree that is true, that is only the fault of eBay.  Maybe a seller will miss out on a potential sale because, if YOU had seen theirs, you would have purchased it?  So, you bought another.  If you don't agree with that, you are missing something eBay puts forward in their own wording.  Cheers!

I agree with you.  That is possible.

When sellers come here complaining about slow/no sales, is it POSSIBLE that nobody wants to buy what they are selling  and ebay has nothing to do with their slow/no sales?

We just disagree which one of those scenarios is more likely.

Re: Where are all the customers?

In my case it is, (I don't count Bonanza lol) as I have a FT jobby job and there's only so much time in a day and energy in my body.

Maybe (one day) when (if) I retire.

Re: Where are all the customers?

Why are you paying union dues if you are retired?

Oops!  My paycheque* BEFORE I retired... now my pension cheque doesn't even have income tax taken off it which is annoying when income tax has to be filed in May.

*And I forgot the deduction for pogey.

Re: Where are all the customers?

.... i am currently at no sales in 19 days.

You have no listings.

That might be part of the problem.

Yeah, in that case I might not bother, either. I've never sold on only one website, but I came late to eBay and had already been selling several other places for a couple of years before starting here 2001, so it just sort of stayed that way. Vices soon become habits.

Re: Where are all the customers?

I know one circumstance is more possible than the other, but for the low % of sellers (in comparison to the 18 million) that come on these boards to complain, I believe the possibility of the "least likely" is probable.  If the likelihood that 0.0005% of the sellers face slow sales because of eBay interference & there is 0.0003%, of the 18 million sellers complaining on the community boards, it's justified why those people are upset.

Re: Where are all the customers?

They are clearly manipulating sales.... once you havent sold in a few days they shadow ban and dump your listings way down... no amount of new listings, repricing, promoting or offers sent recover it... how do you have a hand in anything 0 feedback ??? Lol

Re: Where are all the customers?

Some hide behind their fake IDs so others cannot compare their advice to how they actually conduct business on eBay.   I even visit some who show a FB total & still see nothing listed.  Using an old ID?  Someone tried to boast they had a 65% sell through rate.  It is impossible on eBay.  Of course, no way to check it with their fake username.  Over time, their story changed.  lol  I've seen a lot of odd occurrences on eBay in my 23 years.  TOO MANY for me not to believe there is interference.  There was a time when I had steady sales.  1-4 sales a day or better.  Suddenly, I had the best day I ever had.  $500!   What happened next?  No sales for a week!  A coincidence?  I do not believe so.  It was someone else's turn to earn.  lol

Why hasn't that happened to me, then?

Re: Where are all the customers?

@heane3

Your not alone man.... i am in one of the worst ebay selling droughts on my selling account in over 10 years of selling.... i am currently at no sales in 19 days. This has never happened even in 10 years of selling, if it has happened it was maybe 1 other time.

That's good news.  You have experience in this situation.

What caused it?   What cured it?

How long did it last?

What did you do?

Maybe use the past to learn and come up with a solution for now and for the future?

Or, cry and hope that someone "does something."

Just an idea.   Consider it.

Re: Where are all the customers?

@chapeau-noir

Folks, please don't tell us that this is the ONLY place where you sell? Because it's absolutely no longer the only place where people buy.

For some of us, it is.

There aren't any (that I know of) sites that sell used auto parts in any kind of numbers at all.

I've tried Mercari for the key fobs, but their bulk upload feature needs to be fixed, and I'm not willing to do that job one at a time.
