Killer sales weekend for us anyways.....
If things don't turn around we're not going to Thanksgiving, going to need to save the gas money for ebay fees. So serious right now.

Do any of you respondents realize that there is also a “handling time” option for GD? All this drama about delivery; so don’t choose that one, and it’s eBay on the hook with USPS.

@themagicmountain wrote:One problem is that there is a glitch that isn't being fixed where packages that are scanned properly within handling times are still being marked by Ebay as late
It has to do with information about tracking and delievery dates sent to beay by the USPS that the sellers don't have access to
NO WAY am I ever going to do GD.
I still have one widget that never updated the tracking until I filed a list parcel claim (I knew it had been delivered), which made USPS update that tracking in a heartbeat.
eBay however STILL shows as "delivery exception, not updated)

Won't be doing that option either. Have a regular carrier who's the best. His subs however are hit and miss. Even if the flags up they simply ignore it unless I have mail deliverd.
And no I'm not running my stuff to the PO every day after I've worked 8 hours graveyards.

I feel the same. I get home from work 11 to 14 hours after i leave home. I will quit selling before i chase any carrots on the end of a stick here. I feel bad for those not in that position though. Peace be with those people.

If stamps.com was an accepted shipping option, I'd absolutely be using the handling time GD. The more sellers participate in that , the more money Ebay will have to shell out and the faster they'll remove it. Ebay doesn't like losing money.

I typically ship in one day or less. So I tried Guaranteed Delivery on a handful of items, and wouldn't you know, in the very first week of doing so, I somehow had eight missed scans. Eight in one week as opposed to nowhere near that in the previous ten months. Far too coincidental for me. So I opted back out of the GD program.
It is a risk you take, though. If you have a very competent (and full faith) in your carrier, you might be successful with it.

I tried clicking on guaranteed delivery on a couple of searches I've done, and it eliminated over 90% of the results. I think buyers will catch on to that pretty quickly.

Here is what Audrey posted about an hour ago over in Bobs Blog:
I can understand that it is frustrating to not be a part of Guaranteed Delivery for the holidays, but I wanted to explain why we did what we did. We wanted to roll it out with a phased approach to ensure a smooth buyer and seller experience. As you know, the holiday season is a critical time, so we wanted to make sure we got the experience right. Hold tight, we'll add more sellers in January. Thank you! ~Audrey
And here is what she posted just after that:
Agree 100% and we are committed to reducing the number of changes we roll out in Q4. Which changes are you referring to? Just want to make sure I'm understanding exactly what you are mentioning. Thx! ~Audrey
Maybe it's just me, but those two statements seem to contradict each other.

Yes, I do realize the handling time option, although I do not list here, I do list on other sites and utilize "the handling time," and to add, I've started selling online '03, so, I may not be an "expert" but I do understand handling time very well - even before selecting handling times were/are mandatory, yep, I do totally understand.

Had a first class same state sale. Package went to MA, CT, NY, MA and finally back to CT. Took 8 days for delivery. This will happen more and more during the holidays. No GD for me thanks.

Then why harp on arrival time, when there’s a better option?
