Killer sales weekend for us anyways.....
If things don't turn around we're not going to Thanksgiving, going to need to save the gas money for ebay fees. So serious right now.

Here is what Audrey posted about an hour ago over in Bobs Blog:
I can understand that it is frustrating to not be a part of Guaranteed Delivery for the holidays, but I wanted to explain why we did what we did. We wanted to roll it out with a phased approach to ensure a smooth buyer and seller experience. As you know, the holiday season is a critical time, so we wanted to make sure we got the experience right. Hold tight, we'll add more sellers in January. Thank you! ~Audrey
And here is what she posted just after that:
Agree 100% and we are committed to reducing the number of changes we roll out in Q4. Which changes are you referring to? Just want to make sure I'm understanding exactly what you are mentioning. Thx! ~Audrey
Maybe it's just me, but those two statements seem to contradict each other.

NO ONE should offer that. No one at all. It is not possible to accomplish at this time or year (or any other).

If you select the “handling time” option, and if your post office reliably scans packages, why isn’t it possible?

Nobody is using GD in the category I mainly sell in. I would imagine not too many people are in a hurry for an old cookbook.

So the vast majority of my items are priority shipping, 1 day handling time. I opted for GD as a seller to give it a go. If I shop for my own items, only handful out 160 something listings actually show up. It seems not all items qualify for GD, even though all the parameters(shipping and handling time) on my items are practically the same with exception of maybe 10 percent of my items are FedEx.

Your non-FedEx items show “guaranteed delivery”, but not within 3 days, which is what that toggle on search screens for.

One problem is that there is a glitch that isn't being fixed where packages that are scanned properly within handling times are still being marked by Ebay as late
It has to do with information about tracking and delievery dates sent to beay by the USPS that the sellers don't have access to

Agreeing a million percent. Why on earth would anyone guarantee something that is totally out of their control. If I know a buyer in is my same state or closest zone then arrival time is typically a day or two earlier than what ebay tells them. If I have to send to opposite coast or certain LA zips then arrival is typically a day or two later. Problem is while we can eliminate worldwide sellers cannot eliminate certain states in US.

Did the same search on a couple brands I sell, 10k without 3 day guarantee, 13 with 3 day guarantee. LOL, real useful feature there eBay.

It seems this is just another way for ebay to give certain sellers preference in search, right during the holidays. I was about to type "unbelievable", but then I realized that it's totally believable here on ebay.

The US Post Office has lost billions of dollars a year over the just the last decade. Why would you as a seller want to be tied to their efforts with delivery guarantees and be punished by your buyers for not performing . Being tied to the rail of the Titanic would be a quicker death.
USPS shipping insurance is an example. In addition to being about the world's most overpriced insurance, it only covers package contents. It does not cover the shipping and delivery cost which is the only the very task we pay them to do.

Not saying that the following may be is or is not the OP's issue, what if the OP has not been able to secure a position that would pay enough to cover their household/personal/medical expenses? It is not that we as sellers think that eBay is the answer (if that were the case, I'd be listing like a banshee), but we/they might use eBay (or any other online platform) until the right position with a good enough salary in order to live on.

@tkinnebrew - I know you will run your business as you see fit, however, I myself would not offer GD because even the PO cannot "guarantee" that the pkg will arrive within the timeframe. I don't think that FedEx/UPS could either due to circumstances beyond their control.
