Trying to list things this morning and when I click the Preview Listing button to see if everything is okay, in the spot where it should be the description instead of seeing the description, I get the hated blue "See Full Item Description Button".

When I click on it nothing happens. How are we suppose to make sure our listings are correct if you can't preview the description.

I went ahead and listed and then checked on another browser and id to make sure everything was okay and it was, no blue see full item description button thank goodness.

Hard to believe I am the only one having this problem. I am seeing it on edge, firefox and chrome. I create the listing, click preview and in the description area it says See Full Item Description.

I have been ignoring it and listing anyway but would really love to see my description before I list the item.

Without us being able to see any of your affected listings, there is little we can do here except speculate on what is causing it.

If it works, sell it. If it works well, sell it for more. If it doesn't work, quadruple the price and sell it as an antique.

Simplest assumption would be that there is something in the listing triggering the hidden description, but having the button pop up on preview is a new twist. Makes total sense for eBay to integrate the HTTP checker with the preview to catch listings with issues before they go live, but of course it's hosed up.

First I've heard or seen of it, but eBay is supposedly working on the HTTP checking tool, there have been reports that preview id broken and mangling description text (happened to me this morning), and Preview quit working for me at all this morning after that - might tend to indicate that they are monkeying with it.

Suggestion for the OP: try my description unhiding bookmarklet. Don't know if it will work in your scenario, but worth a try:

Nothing in my listings to create this. No active content just plain text, no pictures, nothing, That is why I am confused. When I check out all of my listings on different browser under different id's I do not get the blue box of death, I see the description. That is why I find it so weird.

You are getting the "View Full Description" button in the listing editor preview popup (or window) when you try to preview while revising? If so, it happens in all browsers?

You mean live listings, not while editing? That would indicate that there is noting wrong with the listing content, but that some weird glitch is happening in the listing form preview function (and only for you so far).

It has just happened to me too, the blue box saying "See Full Item Description" while trying to preview my listing before hitting the List Item button.

Very frustrating. There is no active content or http content in the listing.

Any thoughts out there would be appreciated 🙂

Obviously eBay is "improving" the Preview box function.

On my Mac laptop with Firefox this particular glitch manifests as scrunched up text.

Having been around a long time and knowing eBay's track record with software tinkering, I went ahead and hit List Item. Then I checked the active listing.

The active lisitng itself looked fine, so I'll just ignore the Preview box until eBay gets it fixed.

I played around and couldn't get it to do that for me in Firefox. I am however experiencing the "scrunched up text" in the preview.

I suspect it is tinkering - whether trying to fix bugs, or change things and introduce more bugs is unknown.

I'm curious if the bookmarklet I mentioned above would get the preview to appear for you when the button is there. The bookmarklet operates on item (/itm/) pages, and the preview page is also an /itm/ page, but I don't know if it will work on the preview pages with the button present because I can't see it/test it, and don't know if eBay is doing the same thing with the description containing cross domain iframes. If it doesn't work it'll just do nothing.

All you have to do is grab the code, create a bookmark with it, and click that bookmarklet when the button appears on a preview page or a listing page when the button is present.

Same here. It appears programmers are fiddling with the preview option again...this has happened before, so I'm hoping that this issue clears up like it has previously. No worries (fingers crossed!)

Well Jimminies! I am no longer getting the dreaded blue box of See Full Item Description in the Preview now. I am getting the scrunched up mess you are!

I think I will ignore it for now also!!!!
