What would you tell the EBAY CEO/Board members if they would ask you what should Ebay work on?

Dear sellers,

If you could get it off your chest please do so what would you tell those at the top(board members) who are calling the shots for Ebay?
What is Ebay doing wrong and how can they improve?

Hopefully someone with a few remaining brain cells within Ebay will hear us out.

Ditto.

I see all other online selling site ads 2-4 times more than ebays. I watch a lot of TV because I’m not too ambulatory.
yes people know about eBay but they forget. Laughing at  price tag don’t cut it. Why not have kids dreaming about Christmas and instead of sugarplums it’s eBay stuff.!
Come on spent some of those billions on some talent!

Dear God, please help me to be
the person my dog thinks I am.

lower the fees.  it's hardly worth the effort of creating listings that don't sell when for the same fees Amazon traffic and sell-thru is much better than ebay's.  If you want to draw sellers from Amazon, you need to give a reason for the hassles of listings creations, etc.

The GTC thing isn't working.  I never list above and beyond my monthly freebies now so I don't get charged insertion fees if I take advantage of the freebies and forget to cancel in time.  I don't have time for these games and if I did, I'd be a low-volume seller and they should be luring high-volume sellers.  I've got boxes and boxes of new/sealed inventory in my house that I am not able to list on ebay because I am simply not paying insertion fees because the ROI around here is dismal.

I would just change the business model altogether.  Auctions are a thing of the past.  I'd change everything to fixed price and charge a store fee based on number of listings...but keeping in mind Amazon charges $40 for unlimited listings....

I am surprised at the shockingly low number of responses to this discussion.  I would have thought there would have been hundreds of folks weighing in.

People are realizing they really don't and won't care, no matter what is said on this board. So why waste their time?

I think many sellers are out there trying to update item specifics for their listings.  And making those revisions one listing at a time.  Just a horrible requirement that serves no purpose.  No need for anyone to ramp up listings for the holiday season.  Or seek out additional inventory.  No sir.....Ebay demands that you focus your time on revising inane item specifics for each of your current listings.  And this will improve the site?  Hardly.  The site is so bugged already that they don't know which way is up any longer.

Take the money and run.  Sell eBay before the current management runs it into the ground.  eBay has been going downhill the last few years.  Search doesn't work, incompetent IT department, constant useless changes, unhappy sellers, lack of buyers, etc........

E bay needs to get the point across to their employees  that change isn't always the best . There seems to be a few people at the helm who sincerely believe  they'll lose their bread and butter  unless  they keep messing with the site just to prove to their superiors that they are working hard . When there's too many cooks in the soup  with a new idea to add at every turn   usually  you'll end up with a big gigantic mess that isn't even edible . Tulips

Some paychecks need to be justified.    If a corporate drone comes up with this idiotic idea of "Place of origin" in item specifics that simply duplicates another items specific,

Then he won't feel guilty and not be able to sleep because he's being paid by EBAY.

Why should the CRS reps understand the site and rules and have any idea what we are talking about when we call?   They get paid the same amount whether they can help or not.

Here are some things on my wishlist:

-A vacation mode that actually makes your listings invisible until you get back.

-Currently, there are too many different pages for the same things. Place everything on one Seller Hub page, and only one. Each time I click a link to get to my hub or dash it is either broken, takes me to my listings and that's it, or I have to navigate two different pages to run my store. Some sellers (strictly app users) may not even know the hub/dashboard exists! You can't access via app!

-Stop making more buttons and popups for the same things. I don't need ten different things saying lower this, promote that. Now there's two buttons for watching. More is not always better.

-If you're going to send me an email telling me my item is now accepting offers on everything I don't want offers on, then stop making accepting offers an option. Either make it mandatory and get rid of the button, or let us click no and not click it back to yes 'for us'.

-Fix search. Eg. I can type ' Brand Complex Moisturizer' and it yields no matching results, but if I type 'Brand Moisturizer Complex', the results are listed. So, the exact title of the item has no results, but if I word it wierd, there it is.

My wish list is:

1) lower the insertion fees for 1 & 3 day auctions; lower the fee to set a reserve

2) get rid of the service metrics & associated penalty

3) show accountability for server /technical crashes and provide details and updates on corrective actions

(there are just way too many tech problems with Ebay)

4) ensure customer service is providing correct information to sellers and if they say they are going to call a seller back that's what they should do

5) get rid of buyers that get caught scamming, stealing

6) don't create performance metrics for sellers if you have no interest in calculating the metric correctly

7) get rid of promoted listings .... we are already paying you to promote our listings...

😎 Don't force sellers to use Ebay Managed Payments. I'm happy with Paypal. I don't want to switch.

Advertising would be good, publicity would be even better.

Remember when Jay Leno (hah! remember Jay Leno?) would show the weirdest thing his staff had found on eBay that week?

The naked kettle? The wedding dress guy? The leather pants of doom? And all the Jesus in a pancake, in a cheeto, in a laundry stain....

Mostly just get the name of the site and the fact that there are still amazing things on this site.

I made a couple of sales just by linking posts on a Browncoat site to my Firefly badges and another with a link to a Stevengraph silk portrait to Victorians Vile Victorians.

These are still eBay sales. I can't work out how to open a FB store and give more money to Mark Zuckerberg.

But mostly, it's finding the right place to talk to customers.
