With almost all CSR's being in the Phillipines and hard to understand.
What would you consider ,cost wise, to be able to call in and get a Non-ESL CSR based in the US?
1%
$5 a month
With the amount of wasted time to call in and get nothing/very little done compared to what my time is worth I would be happy to pay $50 a month for a service like this. Anyone Else?

Right now? Nothing as I know how to reach them. I think if eBay charged for it the service would go in the toilet.
For an insurance policy offered to protect good long term sellers against scammers? Probably quite a bit.

I'm an anchor store so I never get overseas.

So you are paying something as is $299 a month for Anchor Sub.

How many times have you called them. Do call them every week or day, I myself have only called them less than 5 times in 20 years.

Maybe they have other "agreements" that the public doesn't know about with the government of the Phillipines, it's not always as cut and dry as it appears on the surface.

Now, see, it's funny to me that you would say that. Between the punctuation, capitalization, and grammar issues in your posts, I had to read a number of your sentences a couple of times to understand them.

Like many, I don't have an anchor store and I already pay a lot in fees. I dont' think very many of us feel that we should have to pay even more to have even moderately well trained staff instead of what they have right now. eBay is sitting on a lot of cash, no reason they can't have a competent CS team, much less a compentent IT staff.

As per the title of this post, "What Would You Pay for a CSR in the US?" . . . $00.00. I do not have a problem listening and speaking to anyone whereas English is not their native language.

We have an anchor store so have the luxury of a knowledgeable customer service department.
However, there have been a few times the automated system has put us through to 'regular' customer service - and then I totally understand all the frustration of the public when dealing with eBay customer service! I've repeated the same information over and over, asked questions which received no answers (or wrong ones), had to have sentences/questions/responses repeated because I did not understand the rep (and I've lived overseas, I developed an ear for dialects and accents), etc. There's someone in the chair repeating words off a script, but no actual help is to be had which has merit. It's painful.
If I were a buyer or a seller trying to get information or help, I would definitely give up in disgust, it's that bad. (Not the people themselves, just the "service".)
What would I pay? We already do with our anchor store, fortunately. But I know others cannot afford such a thing if they're a 'small' or a hobby seller.
(We call at least on a weekly basis, sometimes several times a day on a bad day. Today has been twice already - mostly to do with eBay's automated returns which have proven to be much less convenient or accurate than eBay would have you believe.)

It's not just that english isn't their native language. They are ignorant. Follow a script. Repeat your words back to you OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Barely actually help you. You'll have a problem speaking to them, after having to spend half an hour on the phone with someone, for something that can be accomplished in mere minutes with a US rep. I've spent DAYS worth of time on the phone with CSR's. Start having some issues with your account, and you'll come back here and sing a different tune about not having problems listening and speaking to someone from another country.

I'm paying ebay some of the highest fees on the net to sell stuff. You'd think they would include decent CS as part of that.
Of couse ebay charges the ship fee gouge and they have nothing to do with shipping the item so I suppose I should be used to ebay charging us for things they never do any work for.

Not this account but yes, for 10,000 listings a month, $0.00 listing fees, reduced FVF and shipping supplies coupon that almost covers a quarters worth of shipments.
I find it almost impossible to get up to the 10,000 though as I'm the only one listing.
I can get 10-30 a day in but attrition with sales means a gain of only one or two a day.

I have stumbled across one CS that could not read English. I think they memorized the script. When you need them to read the reason the scambag is filing a case and then looking at the listing to see that their complaint was covered in the description, the person doing the CS needs to be able to read and comprehend English.

Have you ever called Netflix? Their reps are U.S. based and do the same thing. Every U.S.-based Customer Service rep I've ever encountered does the same thing. It's a part of Customer Service training around the globe.
