Got this message this afternoon in my mail:
Hi Seller,
I am interested in buying this from you for a customer of mine.. just wanted to confirm if you will be able to Drop Ship this to my customer, using my Packing Slip?
Please let me know the doing business with you.
Thanks
I let them know that I don't support drop shipping and thanked them for the interest. I also thanked them for at least asking first.
Then added them to my block list. They had no seller feedback only buyer feedback and an account just over a year old.
I also reported their message just in case.
What would some of you have done?

I would have done exactly what you did in that scenario.
I did have in my time here 2 buyers who asked and entered the shipping address to someone else and made sure to ask NOT to put a packing slip in. In those cases the buyers had a lot of feedback.
In one of those cases I was afraid (even though I accepted the order) because that buyer left TONS of negatives if their order was late to their customer.
In your case the buyer wanted you to put their packing slip into the order. That is a "no can do" as my family tends to say.

I'd check my price to see if there was really enough leeway to drop ship.

I would have told them, "You lost me at, 'Please let me know the doing business with you.' "

Here's what I would have done:
Ignored
Blocked
Moved on.....

This item has been listed for a while, I had even dropped the price about a month ago. Not in a hurry for it to move and its priced appropriately for what it is. And it even has offers enabled on it.
But I get what you are saying. I was just shocked they even asked first. lol
I have been hit with at least one drop shipper before, but I didn't realize it at the time. That was a few years ago.

I would have shipped. I’ve had the situation plenty of times – but never has the seller/buyer actually been honest about what he’s doing. Usually, it’s something like hey, I can receive packages at my office, but I get in trouble if there’s a packing slip. You get the same seller/buyer doing this multiple times with me, always going to his office, but in different locations, with different names. Same eBay ID. I’ve never once had a problem. There is nothing inherently wrong – let alone illegal – about retail arbitrage.

I would gladly ship it to his customer WITH NO PAPERWORK.
I would not include his packing slip.
I have a salt shaker that I sell on ebay for $40.
Someone has it listed on Amazon for $90.
Every now and then when ever he sells one, he buys it from me and I ship it to his customer.
No problem.

I would have told them OK, but couldn't include their packing slip.
My last 5 sales was from a dropshipper and I don't have a problem with it.

Depends on value of the item, if low value, I would accommodate the request. I would not block someone because of this question.

I would tell this potential buyer.....
"no problem, just send me the packing list you want me to use".
Understand that this buyer could simply have bought the item, provided their buyers address and hoped you would be like many sellers and not include any packing slip of your own.
People who are using you as a dropshipper fall into two groups, one that is actively using you as a source and those that are seller who for various reasons needs to find a source for something they sold but can't supply because of a) they can't find the item, or b) they discovered the item was damaged and want to avoid doing a cancellation.

That's a question only you can answer. Personally, I would have done what you did. However, there are folks on here that welcome those kinds of sales.

I would have done the same as you did.

The problem I see is that even without a packing slip there is the label right on the package that shows it's coming from Ebay and seller's name and address, very obvious not shipped from seller's stock.

I once had a drop shipper buying from me and I did not know it; until..........
He tried to 'return' an item; then I looked closer including their 'previous' purchases and addresses.
I was able to deny the return, so I did- then blocked this 'seller'.
