Quick backstory. Sold 4 travel size hair products in one listing. Buyer claimed that 2 were empty and 1 was half empty. No, they were not empty. They are travel size with about 0.35oz in each, so not much.
Anyway, she opens a case in Paypal asking for $10 back. She paid 13.99 + 3.00 for shipping.
She bypassed ebay for some reason.
She left me a negative stating that the items were not as described. I refunded the 10.00 she asked for along with a message asking if she would consider revising her feedback.
This is what she wrote in response:
"Hello. I am a very busy businesswoman and I just signed a deal to do my own TV show in Michigan which I am very busy with. If you go ahead, And give me a full refund due to the inconvenience , I will then reissue you a 5 star review. "
Is this against policy? It seems like feedback extortion to me .
Do I have a shot at getting this removed by ebay?
I would not have had a problem refunding the rest of her money but she didn't ask for it to begin with and what she is asking of me just seems, well, wrong.
And if she is this big shot getting her own TV show why in the world is she squabbling over a few bucks?
Something isn't right here

"Dear buyer,
I am sorry for any inconvenience. Please return the item(s) for a full refund.
Best regards,
Your seller"
Rinse and repeat, as often as necessary.

I'm a bit surprised someone would pay $17 for 4 trial sized things. They must be pretty special.
If you do KNOW they were full, don't negotiate any more than you are forced to do by eBay or PayPal. I would definitely file a complaint with eBay just in case the buyer tries it again on someone else. Also, I would call and ask CS if it is possible to get the negative removed based on the extortion and the fact that you gave most of the money back. If may not be possible, but I would not bother negotiating with a known liar.

I looked at the listing. She had to say one was full because the picture shows it. The others are spray and I suppose it is possible that the sprayers did not work. I have a full bottle of spray shampoo in which the sprayer does not work. It is not empty, but I can't get it out. So....I don't know. It is possible that there is a function problem with the bottles. That would not be something you could know without testing, which would mean they are no longer new.

I would have stated that she has 24 hours to return the 10 dollars by sending it to your PayPal address , and remove the negative or you call the tabloids in Michigan and report how she lied to ebay, scammed you 10 bucks and now is extorting you for the rest of the refund .... let her know that you too are a busy person.
call Ebay, ask them to read the emails. DEMAND that they remove this negative . Ask them to revoke this scammers buyer protection. Block this bidder.

Question: What are the chances there are two crazy women in Michigan (100%, verified it on YouTube), each having a radio show (.0001%), each buying similar products on Ebay (.0001%), each having similar issues with a similar product (.0001%), and both sellers would cross paths on an Ebay chat room (.0001%)?
Answer: Higher than you would think

Google the ladies name with the city. If it comes up showing a mug shot of a lady with an arrest record I believe for DUI it's the same woman. I did so to see if I could find the show she had and that's all that I came up with was the mugshot

You should contact us first and feedback later

It's worth a try under the feedback extortion policy even though you mentioned feedback first.
Even if you issued a full refund there is no guarantee the buyer would revise the feedback because the buyer tells lies..

She had no intentions of paying for what she received. She knew she would be filing a claim through PayPal; therefore $17 for 4 trial sized things meant nothing to her.

I would have been tempted to ask,
"How would a full refund create more time for you?"

Funny! Maybe she considers being shown on "cops" as having her own tv show 😉

I wanted to update you guys to let you know that ebay did consider that to be feedback extortion and removed the negative.

Good result ( for a change ) just remember never partial refund, return for refund always, these people are serial thieves and scammers, I'll bet you she already has another seller on the hook as we speak about to cave in for another partial, this is exactly why they do it, stand firm in future.
