What would be the right order of steps to get this neg removed?

Well I just had this one drop on me.  Here are the relevant or irrelevant facts, as they may be: I'm a TRS and this was a 30-day Free Return item.  The buyer didn't do a return and never wrote to express any disappointment. So it seems like a slam dunk for removal but I want to do it right.  I'm guessing the first step is to ask for a revision, but not sure what I could say to compel her, considering she bought the item July 26th, so it's too late for her to file a return, and I'm not going to offer a bribe for a revision (as in offer a partial refund), lol.  Come to think of it, why does ebay allow buyers to leave feedback after the return window is closed?     If this necklace was so not-shiny and not-pretty-colored to her, why did she wait so long to even leave this feedback?

Anyway, if requesting a revision is indeed the first step, does it give the buyer a deadline to respond?  And what happens if they don't, or respond by writing a refusal to revise?

And I would too, but again, HOW, when there won't be a Return Item button for her to hit, because she bought it over 30 days ago?  You aren't suggesting to offer it as a private (outside Ebay) thing, right?

If you can get the feedback remove, great.  If not,

then take the advice of  @lakefor94  Turn a negative into a positive.

Whether something is "pretty" or not is totally subjective.

I think everybody knows that.

Respond to the feedback in a cool, calm, friendly manner.

Let other future potential buyers know how you handle this.

As a buyer, I would have no hesitation buying from you.

Good luck!

Also, unless I'm mistaken, ebay has said in the past, when condition is at issue, it is the condition box, not the description box, that governs, and I believe ebay has been clear that if the condition is not clearly stated in the condition box

I don't see why that matters in this case, because I certainly wouldn't have stated the condition as dull and not pretty, in order to avoid someone claiming that.  In fact the part where she says the star doesn't show very clearly seems to be more of a claim that this is a poor specimen of a star ruby, which would have zero to do with condition, as the star doesn't become less clear with time.

It's not too late for a return if you are still willing to give them one.  They will still be able to open a return but if it has been more than 30 days since they received it,   you have the option of denying it or approving the return.

Are you sure?  She would really still see the Return Item button on her purchase page?

Don't say anything accusatory.  You know, We offer 30-day Free Returns. Let us know if you have a problem in an eBay message rather than in feedback and we will take care of you as we do all buyers. Blah blah blah.

That will definitely be my last resort.  But unless I'm mistaken it can only be a last resort, as in, you can't get it removed after you've replied.

Re: What would be the right order of steps to get this neg removed?

A buyer can request a return long after the 30-day window has closed.

The only difference is you have the option of refusing it.

Ask them to start a return if you like.

Never mind how she'll do it.

Forget about the return.

This reply is for your future potential buyers to see.

Think of it as free advertising.

If you've given up on getting the buyer to remove/revise the feedback.

Leave a good reply and forget about it.

That's about all you really can do.

Oh, and pray she doesn't file a chargeback.

I know a negative feedback really stings.

Sorry this happened to you but you'll get through it.

Just FYI That is absolutely not true.

I've had negative feedback removed many times after replying to it, one as recently as a few days ago.

It does not matter.

No I actually do get this.  If you look at my only other neg, that's what I did, and I didn't even ask the buyer for a revision first.  I figured it would be pointless considering the buyer's English might make it hard to understand what I was requesting, and as it was an EIS item, I couldn't offer to let them return the item to me.  I just figured this was an opportunity to let International buyers know that if their items arrived damaged, it could be due to handling that negates the seller's packing efforts.

But this current one, nah it's bullsh and I want it gone if possible.  I think she waited on purpose.  I'll ask her to return since that is apparently possible (news to me, so I learned something from this already).  If she refuses, then I'll ask EFB if they'll remove it.  And if they won't THEN I'll write the reply.

It doesn't seem to me that the feedback the OP cites would fall under of those three criteria you mention.

Unless I am in error, it seems like FB is supposed to be about the total experience.

Your buyer feels that what she received is not what she expected.

Re: What would be the right order of steps to get this neg removed?

You're Top Rated and offer Free Returns. Ebay will gladly remove it.  Also, it's after 30 days.  Yes, she could go through her bank to get refund, but Ebay won't take the money from your account if they were to autorize a refund, which I doubt since she didn't return.

Re: What would be the right order of steps to get this neg removed?

I didn't realize previously that ebay saw the condition field as more important than the description.  I sometimes put  "read full description for details".  I wonder how ebay would view that.

See, that's what I thought was the given fact of the matter, like all I needed to get it was to do it with the correct series of steps.  But everyone else is acting like it's hopeless, so I'm like ..... am I in an episide of  The Twilight Zone or something???
