What would be the one, most crucial thing you would ask Bob Kupbens?

I've been reading the questions for Bob Kupbens thread.  There are a LOT of very good questions there.  Voting will determine which questions Mr. Kupbens will answer.

So this is much more basic.  No offense to the many great questions there, but many are very specific to certain situations.

If you could only ask ONE question, what would you say is THE most important question that he should be asked?

What is the biggest and most important concern that you face, worry about, or ponder?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I wonder if that has actually happened to him.

It's probably rare compared to the volume of daily sales but it would be interesting to hear if an insider would handle it differently.  christmas_tree

How about the constant "reassurances" from the Blues who say they will provide education to customer service when they give Really Bad Advice and a seller or buyer posts about losing their protections/items as a result? Those useless replies do nothing to improve the confidence of anyone. Cat Mad

I've seen where they say they will provide coaching~so yes, education.

In addition to the other suburb questions that have been mentioned - I'd like to know why the CS department is based in the Philippines and India as opposed to having Americans do American jobs for an American company here in America? And where the reps have English as their first language.  No offense to those who speak 2 languages - I can't, so I truly admire you - however, just saying sometimes it's hard to understand what is being said...

When will we see some sort of seller protection again instead of lip service or after that fact hoops to jump through.

What did Ebay do last summer to the search engine that has caused so many of us to lose sales to the tune of 30% down from last year or more. Will they fix it or is this the new normal?

My guess would be that that is a cost saving measure as many companies do the same.  I know it can be difficult to be understood or to understand under the circumstances, but the cost would probably be dramatically higher if it wasn't outsourced.  But I certainly understand why it is a valid concern and many share that concern and have expressed that feeling on the Boards.

Certainly a question many sellers would like to ask here.

I thought that this would be the number one question so I am surprised that it wasn't brought up sooner.  I didn't want to state this earlier because I didn't want to impose my view on others but let this flow organically.  An Ebay executive acknowledged tech issues and I believe someone has said that you need to bring this to their attention to get things resolved.

I hear you.  And I thank you for your insight and input.  However...

My point - eBay can afford it. And they can afford to pay well with major benefits. And still have a hefty profit margin - if they never raise fee amounts again - they have enough.  The church only asks for 10% - why must eBay feel they deserve more than that with many categories now at 12% + + +? There is a difference in loyalty and sacrifice, greed and need.

Re: What would be the one, most crucial thing you would ask Bob Kupbens?

Why on earth did eBay start the "good til cancelled" policy on Buy It Now?  I hate it!  I am not a small business, I am an individual with limited space just trying to make a little extra money.  I don't have space to store items indefinitely.    If an item doesn't sell, I don't want to hang on to it forever.  If I cancel the item, it counts against my standing as a seller.  This has prevented me from listing items because they are not good candidates for auction-style listings.  PLEASE give sellers an option when listing items to opt out of this feature.

I miss the days when eBay was geared more towards individuals, and not huge international companies!

I see your point that God only requires 10%.

Oh, please don't misunderstand, I am not saying they can't afford it!  I'm sure they are well able to afford many things.  But the bottom line figures into decisions as well, I think, and that is all I meant.

If anyone actually believes the executives of this company photo, describe, list widgets and ship to buyers, I've got more than a few islands for sale.

Handling a selling account would be in some staff member's intern's job description.

(Please, don't give me the Griff example.)

Oh, my.  Quite the question.  Sounds like a job interview question, I know they usually ask that.
