What the heck is THIS?

So I happen to notice this on one of my listings. I never authorized it and I fear that my buyers will think it is something I am offering. So if it goes badly I get dinged?

Is there any way to get rid of it?

To say nothing of the ridiculous price. $36.00 to install a switch plate cover? All these years I’ve been in the wrong business.

I think your concerns are valid, similar to the concerns that so many sellers have when ebay places the Make Offer option on their listing without the seller's consent.

Showed up in a listing I had for a screw hook. How many ebay gimmicks does it take to screw in a screw hook? Smiley Happy

Re: What the heck is THIS?

Ebay puts that on listing where they believe it has relevance so I doubt you can remove it.

It states the entity offering it.  Handy.

I think buyers will realize that it is not from you, but if it concerns you, you can add clarifying info in your description.

Re: What the heck is THIS?

Many of my listings have an insert/ad trying to sell something.

Some have the "1 year protection plan from Square Trade" .

Some have a "10 minute call for repair assistance" for $14.95 (on a $13 item)

Some have both.

My New (Other) items seem to, at this point, be exempt from the inserts.

Have never had an issue with a buyer thinking "I" was offering it.

You have a point.  That's why I said, I think, because one just never knows!

I agree, seller should have the option to offer this service on their listing since seller's reputation is on the line, not eBay's. Since seller is assuming the risk, eBay should be offering a commission to the seller for selling the service.

What stops buyer from leaving a neg saying "switchplate is great, install service ripped me off to unscrew and rescrew two screws?"
