What's this "See full item description" button on every listing?

Just noticed it. You have to click on that button to see the full description? What's the point? Who doesn't want to see the whole description in the first place? This is just going to lead to a bunch of returns when buyers realize they aren't getting what they thought they were buying.

you must have missed the discussion on security that's been going for months.....

Every now and then a buyer sends a message that starts off something like "I thought the item was/I expected the item to be .........".   I point out that the full description and detailed item specifics were available for them to read BEFORE they decided to purchase.

We all know it's a pain, but in the end, if a buyer doesn't click to read, that's on them.    Most big shopping sites nowadays require shoppers to click here and there.

I just checked one of your listings and it was so easy to see the description. It shows about 2/3rds of it and to see the last part all you need is at least one finger on your hand to push the button to see the rest. As far as your photos go, they are red "x"'s. You may want to host your photos using Ebay instead of another source.

It's the worst idea. Makes it more difficult for buyers.

I see them just fine once I click see the description. The problem with the click to see the description is your links have HTTP instead of HTTPS

I host my own photos and had to buy a security certificate so my pictures would display with HTTPS

ebay made the change because google chrome will be telling people that are following a link to your listing that it's not secure

What links? I don't think I have any in my descriptions.

Most just expand it on the same screen.

No one but here opens it up in a new window/tab with nothing to reference back to what you originally clicked on.
