What's the oldest active listing you currently have on your account?

Okay. I was mainly asking about old listings that haven't gotten new listing IDs.

2019

Why because that listing has 500+ watchers and has sold 315 items.

I use the out of stock option for all of my listings. I love the out of stock option.  But because that my choosen listing strategy, a listings metrics (Solds, Watchers, Views, etc.) are what is most important to me. Ending listings is the last thing I want to do. Most of those types of listings have often been 5 to 10 different products at different times.

How in the world 🌍 would I find the oldest listing with 3900+ listings?

In your active listings page you can sort by “start date”. If you don’t have that column you can add it from the customize option.

It seems like most people who have really old active listings are keeping them because of sales history. So I have a follow up question, what happens if you have a listing with hundreds of sold units (let’s say 3-4 a day on average) stops making sales (maybe 1 sale every 3 days) for… let’s say two months. Would you think about manually ending it and relisting/sell similar? Or would you still value the sales history of the listing and hang onto it?

I know my prices should be higher ... and they will be as soon as I've built up the number of listings a bit higher (I just photographed at least 10 pieces tonight).  My store got so small the past several months that I couldn't really afford to have things priced for waiting; I just needed money, but then of course the problem with that is, the more things sell, the fewer items you have, LOL!  Also if I'm honest I'm a very impatient person, even when I don't need the money.

But I'm working on it.  😇

Ooooh no, the horror. I’d love to have that problem 😉

You should hurry up with that and be a patient person already. Chop! Chop!

Still there as I replenish stock. Easy to ship. Good ROI.

Been selling the item longer than that, but probably had not learned about OOS before that😂

I remember before OOS option existed, I would just totally jack up the price so no one would buy it. I think once or twice I had someone actually buy it at the inflated price. So I had to buy one from a competitor and ship it to my buyer since my supplier was OOS too.

Thank you, I was not showing the dates, using the customize feature fixed it.

How about the next question:  How many listings do you have that show zero views?  Yikes.

If you click the little arrows next to "Start Date" it will sort the items so either the newest or the oldest is at the top of the list.  That will tell you which item has been up the longest, if you haven't been ending and selling similar your items.  It will work whether you have 4 items or 40,000.

Right now we have stuff here since 2012.  Like others have said - we write it up and relist till sold.

But that's just us, there are all different types of sellers - Only the 250 free or a store is the first variable. Only use vs only new one shots vs new with inventory. Only auctions, only BINs - never ending BINs vs BINs run for 29-1/2 days then ended.

We do the 250, all are old/use or one shot new, and all BINs ended before relisting.  And we only list on Thursdays at noon, all first time listing are auctions, and as said above we end all BINs an hour before it relists.

We have over 700 unsold on all accounts and relist whatever is on the top of the unsold list that Thursday.

We have BINs that started as auctions in 2014 and have gone up and down as BINs since 2016.

We also have auctions first listed in 2015 and never converted to BINs that go back up every 60 or so days.

We have never started a BIN and just let it relist and relist and relist.

When we find two or three of the same ink or die cast car we only list one at a time.

We're a real store and don't really need the money we make here, ebay is our 5th, sometime 6th line of income, as in the summer some weeks the soda/candy machines makes more profit.

Oh MY Goodness...I have a ton of old "Antique" items on my listing that have been there for over 3 years and when I take them down and relist them they sometimes sell.  I think we have newcomers all the time and they put a "watch" on certain items and if it gets listed or "relisted" they seem to find it and then buy it. Who knows. I can't figure out why they don't find it when they search but sometimes they don't even know what it is by "words' but if they see it, then they know. LOL.  I sell about 1000 items per year consistently so i don't worry any more about old items. I just keep listing new items and relisting old items and they sell. I am in a small B &M shop and rotate items in and out all the time. Some sell in the shop and others on line.

Hi,  We recently sold an item that was "up & running" for just over 4 years.  We did however, adjust the wording a bit or add a photo. from time to time - attempting to generate some interest.

I have some books that have been listed for years.  I just looked at one that I listed in 2019.  Why are they still there?  Because I have sold some books that have been listed that long!  It just takes the right person.  I have plenty of free listings, so it doesn't hurt anything.

I sold an item that has been up for 8 years yesterday. When eBay started one of their selling points was you can find hard to find, rare, stuff on eBay. That means leaving items up that no one seems to want. At some point someone is going to need it and buy it. Especially old electronic items and parts. eBay needs to stop hassling sellers to get rid of old listings because no matter what it is, one day someone is likely to buy it.
