What's the lamest reason you ever had for a return?

That question is right up there with the mystery "gift" that was included in the inhawaii feedback from a few weeks back.

This was our first return and the item was a used auto part. On the last day of the buyer's MBG return window he opened a return request, his reason:

He decided to sell the vehicle he bought the part for.

I have some funny visions with regards to this one none of which are probably appropriate to post on this forum.

What's a Horse Halter?  Should I have one? I guess that would kind of depend on what you are into. 😊

The most ridiculous are the people who buy an item for parts/not working attempting an INAD because "the item doesn't work/defective".

Ebay sided with me on that one as I pointed out that the reason they chose proved my item description and condition was 100% correct.  Their own reason was the reason their INAD claim was not valid.  They negated themselves.

If someone buy a item that is "not working" and it does work, can they return it for INAD?

OMG

Good thing you allowed the return, if they broke their dentures on the candy they might have sued you. LOL!!!!!!!

CORRECT. But the reasons are completely off the wall for many.

I vote this one as the most ridiculous and hilarious so far.

1.  A buyer wanted to know why I was selling a vintage booklet because it had been a free store give-away about 50 years ago.  She said because it was originally free, I should not be able to sell it and that I should give it to her free now.

2.  A man wanted me to give him a fairly expensive item free because he wanted it as a gift for his girlfriend and said he didn't have any money to buy her something.

3.  It's been a long time ago and I don't remember all the specifics but I had one of those "my kid got hit by a car and the medical bills are astronomical, and my wife has mental problems  and can't cope with it, my dog died, I got bit by a snake", etc. etc.  But he still had time to shop on eBay and ask for a better deal on an item.

I’ve had two

1st .
buyer returned a hot wheels car that when bought had just come out and was very hard to find. Three weeks later buyer started a return the reason the value had gone down so they can get it cheaper now.

2nd

buyer buys a hot wheel for let’s say $10 gets said hot wheel and complains the free hot wheel I send as a thank you wasn’t a more valuable one. Of course ebay gave them the refund. Shame on me for not making the buyer rich with the free item.
instantly stoppped sendin any thank you freebies

Lately? Probably the soccer knee pads a buyer ordered in extra small and then was mad they were extra small. I got them back covered in blood and absolutely ruined.

eBay did not see any problem with that and I was told that Nike must have screwed up and put the wrong size on the packaging since the buyer claimed they were too small. They advised me that I should have opened the packaging and measured them myself to make sure Nike did not make a mistake before listing them. True story.
