How do I handle this situation with this buyer?

Had a buyer message me about an item they bought back in the beginning of august. They're claiming it no longer works. I'm not really sure what to say to them, but I feel as if there isn't much I can do. They've had the item for 3 months and it's worked fine up until now, who knows how they've handled it for it to stop working. Any advice on what I should say without being rude to them?

How do I handle this situation with this buyer?

To the OP:

Tell the buyer exactly what you posted here.   After all the time that has passed,   There's not

much you can do for them.

Don't get drawn into a long, drawn out discussion.

Nothing you can do. eBay offers 30 days after item purchase. If they file a claim, just upload the tracking and it will close out on its own. However, this is not stooping buyer to file a claim with his payment source, which allows 180 days.

Just tell them that it is long past the time when either party can take any action.  They might still be able to initiate a chargeback.  Depending on the value of the item it may not be worth fighting such a chargeback as it is hard to win  and you would be charged an additional $20 by Ebay if you contest the chargeback and lost.
