You cannot annoy them with seller offers, though Ebay can annoy them. if they leave the item in the cart.

lol this is a pet peeve of mine that’s begun to be more common nowadays. I’ve realized that many more people treat their shopping carts like watchlists or favorites. Carts and watchlists have pretty much become the same thing to many. My wife included. It’s so annoying when we share the same store app account and I’m trying to buy some things only to see dozens of things in my cart that my wife is likely to never buy. So now I have to clean up the cart in order for me to make my purchase online. Rant over.

I think the watchers are primarily competitors. At least the ones in carts are considering the purchase.

I agree with gloryglorygifts.,Hopefully the ones in cart become sales, The watchers can be a mix of potential customers & competition., I wish the competition wouldn't do that.

Good question. Personally, I place items on my Watchlist and don't even use the Cart. Different strokes for different folks... and so on and so on and scoobie, doobie, doobie... 🎶

Viewers view.
Watchers watch.
Buyers buy.
And at a guess- shopping carts are filled with dreams.

What’s difference between add to cart + add to watchlist
The watch list is a buyer tool where they can manage their bids, their offers, their watched items, and their purchases all in one place.
The cart is a buyer tool where they can only manage the items in their cart. They cannot manage their bids, their offers, their watched items, and their purchases there.

I often monitor my items that are watched and placed in carts. If after 6 months they are still watching or holding the item in their carts I will usually end the listings and relist to refresh the listing.
If a buyer is truly interested in buying they would have purchased in the first place. IMO.

Someone mentioned that you can't annoy buyers with offers if an item is only in their cart and not on their watchlist. Is this true?
I know I send offers when I see there are 0 watchers but a buyer has it in their cart (I don't send one if no one is watching or no one has it in their cart). Are the people with it in their cart not getting these offers?

Then there are those that have things in their carts and go to buy one item out of it and end up buying everything in it!!

RE offers anyone that has looked that a listing can get an offer if the seller sends one out for that item, they don't have to have it in their cart or in their watchlist.

How do you know the number of buyers that have your item in their carts? Is there a way to check consistently?
I know sometimes the listing shows it as a red banner on the top left corner of the picture, but sometimes that area displays how many I sold in 24 hours.

When you look at the listing and click on it there is an indicator that tells you how many buyer have the item in their cart.

Have never seen watching a listing as a commitment to buy. There can be many reasons. Am currently watching similar item auctions from three different sellers, none of which have bids. Possibly will make an offer late in the game, but, so far, am not in the least committed to any of them.
And that's just one reason someone may watch something.
